Seat Toledo Emergency Call System Problem

I've got a problem with my 2009 Seat Toledo, gasoline engine, with about 162760 km on the clock. I'm getting an error related to the emergency call system. There's an error stored, a message in the speedometer, and a warning light. Has anyone experienced something like this? Could it be a defective cable or plug connection?

An emergency call malfunction in a 2009 Toledo? Not ideal. First, have you checked all the fuses related to the car safety and control module? A blown fuse can sometimes cause weird errors. Is the error message constant, or does it come and go? Does it seem to be affected by bumps or turning the steering wheel?

Thanks for the reply! I've checked the fuses, and they seem fine. The error message is pretty much always there since it started, and doesn't seem to be affected by bumps or anything. Any other ideas?

Okay, if the fuses are good and the error is constant, it's unlikely to be a simple fix. Given the symptoms and your suspicion of a cable or plug issue, it's pointing towards a problem within the emergency call system's control module or its wiring harness. Is it something you could diagnose yourself? While it could be a DIY job, tracing automotive electronics faults can be tricky. The best bet would be to get it checked at a workshop. They can pinpoint the exact cause and replace any defective part.

Just to let you know, the shop found a faulty connection in the emergency call system, like you said. 95€ later, it's sorted. Thanks for the help!
