Seat Toledo engine stalling problem

I'm at my wit's end with my 2015 Seat Toledo (gasoline engine). It's been giving me some serious headaches lately. With 148342 km on the clock, the engine refuses to start sometimes, and when it does, it occasionally stalls at idle. The check engine light is constantly on, and the engine runs rough, plus I've noticed higher fuel consumption. I scanned the error memory and it seems like the fuel pump is defective. Could this be the pump failure? I suspect it might be a simple cable or plug connection issue, but I'm not sure where to start looking. Anyone experienced similar engine stalling or car performance problems?

I had similar engine stalling issues with my Toledo and it turned out to be related to the fuel pump. Have you checked the pump's electrical connections and relays? A faulty connection can cause intermittent pump failure.

Thanks for the quick response! Where exactly should I be looking for these cable connections? I'm not a complete novice, but I'm not a car mechanics expert either. Any tips on how to identify a defective connection?

Yes, the fuel pump connections are a common culprit. Given the symptoms and the error code, it's likely the issue. If you're not comfortable checking it yourself, I'd recommend taking it to a workshop. They can diagnose the problem accurately and replace the pump or repair the connection if needed.

It was indeed a defective cable connection to the fuel pump. The car mechanics at the workshop located and repaired it, and now my Toledo runs smoothly again. The final repair cost was 95€, which is a relief. Thanks a lot for your help and insights, I really appreciate it!
