Seat Toledo gearbox issues
Summary of the thread
A 2015 Seat Toledo with a diesel engine is experiencing gearbox issues, including unresponsive paddle shifters, slipping, unclean shifts, grinding noises, and emergency mode activation with an error stored. The suspected cause is a defective transmission control unit. A similar issue was resolved by replacing the transmission control module, which is recommended to be checked and potentially replaced to avoid further complications.

ECU? You mean the transmission control module? Was it the same symptoms? Slipping, grinding, and emergency mode?

Yep, that's it! The transmission control module, call it what you will. Symptoms sound exactly like what I experienced. Best get it checked at a workshop, those gearbox issues can get expensive fast.

Control unit replaced. Cost me around 1000€, as expected. Thanks for the input.

Whoa, sounds familiar! I had similar gearbox issues with my Toledo. Paddle shifters went haywire, and the shifts were rough. Emergency mode kicked in a few times too. Was bricking it! Could be the car computer, aka automotive ECU, acting up. What year is yours?
