Seat Toledo Sunlight Sensor Fault

I've got a 2008 Seat Toledo with the gasoline engine that's throwing a solar sensor fault (sunlight sensor, G107, if you want the specifics). The error memory stores the fault without any further ado. The heating output is noticeably low. Given the age, I'm suspecting a wiring issue, specifically a defective cable or plug connection. Before I start tearing the dash apart, has anyone else encountered this? Any known weak points? Is sensor calibration necessary after replacement?

I had a similar issue with my Toledo, though I can't remember the exact fault code. The heating was definitely underperforming. Have you checked the wiring and connections to the sunlight sensor? That seems to be a common issue.

When you say wiring and connections, are we talking about the plug itself, or further back into the loom? Is there a common point of failure I should be looking for?

Yes, in my case it was the plug connection itself. The wires going into the connector were a bit loose, causing intermittent contact. Have you considered getting it diagnosed professionally? It could save you time and potential headaches. A workshop should be able to pinpoint the fault quickly.

Took it to the workshop as suggested and they confirmed it was indeed the sunlight sensor. Turns out a wire was loose in the connector, just like you suspected. 95€ later and the heating is working perfectly again. Thanks for the help!
