Sedici glow plug light and check engine light
Summary of the thread
A 2007 Fiat Sedici diesel is experiencing issues with the glow plug light and check engine light staying on, accompanied by smoke during acceleration. The problem might be due to a faulty glow plug control unit or a bad connection. A similar issue in another vehicle was resolved by checking and cleaning corroded connections to the glow plug module. Ultimately, the problem was fixed by replacing a bad cable/plug connection at a workshop.

Thanks! Could you tell me more about which connection you checked on your Corsa? Where was it, and what did it look like? What exactly did you do?

Sure. It was the main plug going into the glow plug module itself. Looked corroded. Cleaning the contacts fixed it for a bit, but eventually, I had to replace the unit. I'd say take it to a shop.

Thanks for the advice! I took it to a workshop, and they found a bad cable/plug connection and replaced it. Cost me 95€, but it's sorted now. Cheers!

I had something similar with my Opel Corsa, though it was petrol. Glow plug light stayed on, engine light came on. Turned out to be a dodgy connection in the ignition. Have you checked the connections to the glow plug unit?
