Sedici Idle Air Control Valve Issue

Having trouble with my 2013 Fiat Sedici, gasoline engine. 202506 km, check engine light is on. Scan says it's the idle air control valve, error is stored, and sometimes the engine stalls when idling. The intake seems heavily contaminated. Could this be the cause? Anyone else experienced this?

Summary of the thread

A 2013 Fiat Sedici with a gasoline engine is experiencing issues with the check engine light and stalling when idling. The problem is identified as a faulty idle air control valve, with the intake being heavily contaminated. The suggested solution is to replace the valve, as confirmed by a mechanic, which is expected to resolve the issue.

Did this summary help you solve your problem?

I had similar issues with my Opel Corsa. Check engine light and stalling. It was also related to air intake. Was the error code specific to the valve?

Yes, the error code points directly to the idle air control valve. Was your Opel's intake also heavily contaminated? Did you end up replacing the valve, or cleaning it?

I ended up taking it to a workshop as I didn't have the right tools. They confirmed the intake was heavily contaminated and the valve was faulty. They advised replacement was the best option.

Thanks for the info! I took it to my local mechanic, and after checking, he came to the same conclusion. Heavily contaminated intake and a faulty valve. The repair will cost about 425€, but hopefully that will solve the problem.
