Sedici rough idle error code
Summary of the thread
A 2007 Fiat Sedici with a diesel engine is experiencing rough idling and an error code, potentially due to a defective engine mount or a faulty cable or plug connection. The rough idle and error code suggest a classic motor mount issue, possibly involving cracks, tears, or loose connections. It is recommended to inspect the engine mounts and connections, but if unfamiliar with car mechanics, taking the vehicle to a workshop is advised for proper diagnosis and repair.

Thanks! Where exactly are the engine mounts located? I'm not super familiar with car mechanics, so any guidance on where to look would be appreciated.

Okay, so on the Sedici, you'll typically find engine mounts supporting the engine block. Usually, there's one on each side, and sometimes one at the front or rear. Since you've already got the error code and the rough idle, and you're not too familiar with the layout, honestly, I'd suggest taking it to a workshop. If it's just a loose connection, it might be a cheap fix. But if the mount itself is shot, replacing it can be tricky and you'll need the right tools. Could save you a load of frustration!

Appreciate the advice! Took it to the shop, and you were spot on. Turns out it was a defective engine mount, likely a damaged connection like we suspected. Cost me 95€ to fix. Runs like a charm now!

Sounds like a classic motor mount issue! The error code definitely points in that direction, and the uneven idling is a tell-tale sign. I'd start by visually inspecting the engine mounts themselves – look for any cracks, tears, or excessive play. Especially check the rubber mounts; they tend to degrade over time. Before you go too deep, have you checked the wiring and connections to the engine mount? A loose or corroded connection can throw off the sensor and cause those symptoms.
