Seeking Advice for 2010 Fiat Croma Heating/Cooling Issues and Warning Light on Speedometer

Warning light in the speedometer of the vehicle

Insufficient Cooling/Heating

Blower does not work properly

Hey guys, I'm having some trouble with my 2010 Fiat Croma with a Gasoline engine. Lately, the blower hasn't been working right and the car's not cooling/heating as it should. I've also spotted a warning light on the speedometer. Could this be due to a faulty outdoor temperature sensor or something else? Anyone here experienced something similar? If so, how did your workshop resolve it? Appreciate any advice or experiences you're willing to share!

Hey, I've had a similar issue with my 2008 Fiat Bravo. I'm no mechanic, but I tinker a bit. I initially thought it was a cooling issue, but after having it checked at my local workshop, the error was traced to the cable and plug connection from the sensor being defective. They ended up replacing the faulty sensor and fixing up the connection. Ended up setting me back about 155 Euro. Could be a similar issue with your Croma. Have you got it diagnosed yet? Get back with that info and I can try to be more specific with my suggestions. Cheers!

Hey there, thanks for the input! That could be it, I was also leaning towards the sensor being quirky. No, I haven't got it diagnosed yet. Was planning to do it at my next service which is due since I've driven 130133 km already. I don't know if I should get it checked out sooner though, the warning lights have me a bit worried. Anyhow, your suggestion gives me a good lead when I talk to the mechanic. Cheers!

Hey again! Yeah, driving around with a warning light on isn't the best feeling, I totally get it. Given that the issue could be related to the temperature sensor, it could affect both the heating/cooling system and the blower. In extreme cases, it might even lead to overheating. So, to be on the safe side, I'd suggest getting your Croma checked out sooner rather than later. Even if the next service isn't due yet, it'll give you some peace of mind. Besides, if it's the same issue I had, it's not super expensive to get fixed - not fun, but manageable. And remember, it's always good to inform the mechanic about your suspicions, they'll appreciate the head start. Good luck! Let me know how it goes, I am genuinely curious.

Awww, good thanks for the advise! The thing with these warning lights is they don't specify what's causing the trouble, could be a million things, right? I think you are onto something, I'll certainly have it checked out rather sooner than later. I agree, peace of mind's worth it even if the service isn't up yet. Also, yeah, I'll definitely talk to the mechanic about the sensor, good point! Okay then, will get this taken care of and I'll keep you posted once it's sorted. Cheers for now!
