Summary of the thread
A 2015 Mazda CX5 owner is experiencing issues with the key fob and lock/unlock system, suspecting a problem with the car's access control system. A similar issue was resolved in a 2013 Mazda CX3 by replacing defective components, specifically the door handle for comfort access, at a local workshop. The suggested solution involves visiting a workshop to diagnose and potentially replace faulty components, with an emphasis on understanding labor costs. The goal is to restore reliable access to the vehicle, ensuring peace of mind during daily use and weekend drives.

Hey! Your experience sounds similar to mine. Thanks for sharing it. My trusty CX5 has carried me for about 212810 KM now. It's mostly day-to-day usage, nothing too crazy or strenuous. I usually commute to work and occasional long drives during the weekends. My last service was done around 6 months ago, but the key fob issue started only a couple of weeks back. I guess I'll start looking for a good local workshop now. If the solution is the same, I hope it doesn't cost an arm and a leg. Thank you so much for your advice!

Hey there again! Your usage sounds pretty similar to mine, so I'd say there's a good chance it could be the same issue. It's tough when tech like this starts acting up, eh? Don't worry too much, I'm sure you'll be able to get it fixed up. In my case, the price mostly covered labor costs as these components are weirdly designed and tough to replace. But the actual parts themselves were not that pricey. It’s definitely not the most fun way to spend money, but in my opinion it's worth the peace of mind knowing that you can lock and unlock your car hassle-free. And hey, just think about those weekend drives without the nagging worry at the back of your mind. It'll be smooth sailing! Good luck with getting it sorted!

Hi again! True that, nothing is worse than tech surprises. At least, now I have a direction and an idea about the potential cost, thanks to you. I'll be sure to ask for a well-detailed quote especially about labor costs when I visit a workshop. Also, you're right about the peace of mind. Can't put a price on that! Hoping to get this resolved at the earliest so my weekend drives can be worry-free again. Thanks a bunch for sharing your experience and advice! Really appreciate it!

Hey there! I'm far from a car expert, but I've experienced something pretty similar with my 2013 Mazda CX3. The culprit was defective components- the door handle for comfort access to be specific. I took it to my reliable local workshop and they sorted it out for around 390 Euro. It would be helpful if you could share a bit more about your vehicle like planned use, mileage, etc. That way we can provide more specific advice. Hope this helps you out!
