Hey there, Cheers for the quick reply and the advice, much appreciated! Great to know I'm not the only one struggling with this frustrating issue - love my Panda but hate when it starts acting up. By the way, do you remember roughly how much the garage charged you for the cable fix? And has anything similar popped up since the repair or has your Punto been behaving? Safe driving
Hey, you're welcome! Ha, tell me about it, love my Punto but it does know how to keep me on my toes! As for the cost, the total came down to 170 Euro to mend the defective cable connection. A bit of a sting to the wallet I must say, but in return, the parking aid has been perfect ever since. No pesky warnings or funky behaviors, as if it's just rolled out of the showroom - feels great! Keep me posted on how it goes with your Panda! Stay safe on the roads
Hey, thanks a ton! That's really reassuring to hear. I think I can handle 170 Euro if it means getting my Panda back to full health and tackling the open road without any glitches. I'll make sure to inform them about the probable cable issue and hope for the best. I'll definitely follow up and let you know how it goes. I guess in our car-owning journey, these challenges keep things interesting, don't they? Thanks again for all your help. Drive safe and keep enjoying the Punto! Best
Hey. Just read your post. I faced a similar problem with my 2009 Fiat Punto. It's quite an annoyance, isn't it? Well, in my case, it turned out to be a defective cable connection. I remember the car was acting up, the sensors were all over the place, very similar to what you've described about your Fiat Panda. Took it to my trusted garage, and the guys had to do a fair bit of work around the cable connections. It wasn't exactly a breeze for them but they did a remarkable job to get my Punto back in shape. From what I can recall, they mentioned that this wasn't an uncommon issue. Considering both our vehicles are from Fiat and just a few years apart in make, I suspect it could be something similar with your Panda. It's a bit hooky, but not some massive destructive issue. Next time you visit your garage, ask them to check the cable connections. And don't forget to reset your parking aid system once the cables have been checked and possibly fixed. Good luck and hope to hear back that your ride is smooth and trouble-free real soon. Drive easy
