Hi again, thanks a lot for sharing your experience. I couldn't agree more, brakes aren't something I feel like messing around with. Do you recall ballpark how much you ended up shelling out for the fix? Also, have you faced any other related issues ever since they replaced the electric motor in the brake caliper? Any input you have would be golden. Thanks in advance!

Hey again, you're welcome! I'm all for imparting a bit of wisdom from my own experiences. On the financial side of things, hoisting my wallet on this one wasn't exactly a pleasant ride, but safety first, right? Repairing the electric motor in the brake caliper sapped me of a cool 505€, and that, of course, included parts and labor. So brace yourself, it might be a bit of a hit. As to your other question, I'm happy to say that since the mechanics did their magic, I haven't faced any issues related to it. Ever since they replaced that electric motor in the brake caliper, my electric handbrake has been on the button, functioning like a dream. No further problems so far. Hope this info helps you out and you get your Renault sorted without too much hassle. Take care!

Hello, I had a hunch it was gonna dent my wallet a bit, but like you said, safety first. It's good to know that your car's been behaving well since the fix though. I really appreciate you sharing details of your experience and the costs you encountered. It's been enlightening. I've got my appointment booked with the mechanic for next week. Fingers crossed, my Renault will also come through all fixed up and problem-free. Cheers for the help!

Hey there, I dealt with a similar issue not so long ago with my 2018 Renault Megane Hatchback. Turns out, it was the electric motor in the brake caliper that was messing up the works. I can remember the repair process pretty well. The mechanics had to disassemble the electric parking brake (EPB) module to access the electric motor. They had to replace the whole shebang to fix it properly, as the motor just wouldn't come back to life. They even had to reprogram the ECU to recognize the new electric motor in the brake caliper. It wasn't my favorite way to spend the afternoon, but hey, brakes are nothing to mess around with. The electric motor in the brake caliper is a crucial component of the braking system. Once they completed the job, my handbrake started functioning as it should again. Lessons learned, I'd just advise you to let a pro handle it. It's a pretty serious issue to sort out, and it's not something to tinker with if you're not a seasoned mechanic, in my humble opinion. I hope you resolve your problem without too much trouble. Cheers!
