Hey, really appreciate you taking the time to share your experience. Sounds like quite the headache you went through with your 208. Do you happen to recall how much the damage to your wallet was for getting it all sorted? Also, have you run into any other related or unexpected issues with it since the relay was replaced? Hoping my 308 won't become a regular at the mechanic's! Thanks again!

Hey there, glad my experience could give you some insight. The blame was indeed on the main relay just like I suspected originally. Good news though, since I had it switched out, my 208's been just fine, no other related or unexpected turmoils since then. It's been smooth sailing, or driving, should I say! Now about the damage, it was moderate I'd say. Had to part with 120.00 € to get the main relay sorted. Not the cheapest fix but considering it's essentially the car's brain linking all the crucial systems, it needed to be done. No way around it. Hope this helps and fingers crossed your 308 keeps clear from the mechanic's garage after this. Cheers!

Hey, a huge thanks for sharing all that info! It's good to know that your 208's been treating you well post the relay switch. Your information certainly puts my mind at ease, at least about the possibility of subsequent related issues. 120.00 € does feel like a bit of a sting, but as you rightly pointed out, it's essential and not something I can afford to put off, especially with the amount of running around I do in my 308. Suppose it's one of those 'grin and bear it' moments! Anyway, I appreciate your time and advice. Wish me luck, and here's hoping my own trip to the mechanic goes as smoothly as yours did! Cheers!

Hey! I had the same kind of trouble with my 2016 Peugeot 208. My Peugeot just wouldn't start one day. Had it towed to the garage and turns out it was the main relay that was defective. Mechanic had to replace it entirely since it was beyond repair. Honestly, it wasn't a minor issue because the relay is a serious part of the engine control unit. It can affect the fuel pump, ignition, and injection systems. It was a bit of a snag having to deal with it, but once it was changed, my car has been running smoothly. The whole process took approximately 2 days but that most likely depends on the workload your garage has. Since it was an integral issue, they didn't waste time with it. Hope this helps and good luck with your 308!
