Thanks for your insight! Hearing about your experience gives me a starting point. My Toro has been through a good bit - 126632 km on the counter to be exact. The last service was only a few months ago, and it was fine until now. So I'm hoping it's just an isolated problem like you had. I'm gonna investigate the vent lines and valve like you suggested, fingers crossed! Any recommendations for a reliable workshop or specific parts to consider replacing? Cheers for your help!

Hey, no worries at all! Glad I could help out a fellow Fiat owner. With a mileage like that, these problems aren't too surprising, honestly. So don't stress too much, it should be just a standard repair, hopefully. If you are planning to get your hands dirty, I'd recommend inspecting the entire evaporation control system, it's not just about the DMTL valve or vent lines. From my experience, the solenoid purge valve can clog too, causing similar symptoms, so have a look at that also. As for specific parts, I would suggest going with the original ones, always safer with the Fiat, even though they could be a bit pricey. In terms of service, I'm not sure where you're based, but if you're around Frankfurt, Otto's Auto Repair did a bang-up job with my Freemont. Super reliable and the guys know their stuff. Hope your Toro gets back to prime shape soon, bud! Let me know how it goes!

Wow, I really appreciate the in-depth advice! I'll do a thorough check of the evaporation control system and keep an eye on the solenoid purge valve as you've suggested. Also, thanks for pushing me to stick with the original parts. It really makes sense to pay a little extra for the peace of mind. Unfortunately, I'm not based in Frankfurt to check out Otto's Auto Repair but I'll look for something similar here. Your suggestions were invaluable! Fingers crossed it's as straightforward a fix as it was for your Freemont. I'll keep you posted about how things sort out with my Toro. Thanks a bunch again!

Hey there, I totally get what you're going through with the Toro. I've got a 2013 Fiat Freemont Diesel myself and had a similar jerkiness issue cropping up. Definitely not an auto-pro, but I've messed around with cars a fair bit, and figured it was worth getting my hands dirty before running to the pros. Managed to narrow it down to the vent lines from the tank to the valve being defective. I took it to my go-to workshop and the guys took a look at it, agreeing with my suspicion. I shelled out 205 Euro to have it fixed and she's been purring like a kitten since then. Curious though, what's your mileage sitting at? That could factor into the issue at hand. Anyways, hope that helps a bit and feel free to shoot back with more details. I'll gladly share more of my own experiences if it helps. Good luck with it!
