(Translated from German)
Summary of the thread
A 2015 Nissan Rogue is experiencing black smoke, power loss, and engine issues, including difficulty starting, stuttering, and stalling. The suspected cause is a faulty fuel injector, as similar symptoms were resolved by replacing the injector in a comparable vehicle. Suggested solutions include consulting a mechanic for a thorough diagnosis and potential injector replacement, as basic fixes like changing the air filter and spark plugs have not resolved the issue.

Hi, appreciate the answer! It's put some wind back in my sails to hear your issue got resolved. My Rogue just clocked 91653 km recently. No spare parts were changed since the last service, so it might indeed be that pesky injector. I tried to fix it including replacing the air filter and spark plugs and even run a fuel system cleaner but it seems the car issues are more stubborn than a mule. Maybe a repair is in order, just like the remedy you had. Not looking forward to parting with my Euro, but you gotta do what you gotta do, right? I think it's high time for me to pay my mechanic a visit. Thanks for your advice, man! You're a real lifesaver!

No worries! Happy to help out. Yeah, sounds like you've pretty much tried all the basic possible fixes. I get the frustration, man. Cars can be as stubborn as a donkey on a hot day, refusing to budge no matter what we do! From my experience, it seems a major component like the injector is indeed probably going south. And your Rogue being at 91k kilometers could make it plausible. I read somewhere that these things often start giving up anywhere between 80,000-150,000 km. Sorry about the impending hole in your pocket though. That's the part we all hate, but from my experience, it's worth it in the end. And hey, at least you'll have peace of mind and a smooth ride once you've gotten it fixed! Remember to mention all the symptoms to your mechanic in detail, just as you did here - it could help them diagnose the problem more accurately and possibly save you some trouble (and cash!) down the line. Good luck, bro! Here's hoping it's a straightforward fix and your Rogue will be back to its old self in no time. Keep us updated, eh?

Hey, you're a star! Now why didn't I think of that? It's true, might as well let the pros handle this. Nothing worse than an unhappy car when you have places to go, people to see. Yes, I'll make sure to let the mechanic know from A to Z, just as you suggested. Fingers crossed it won't be too hard on my wallet! Anyway, your advice has been super. I'll share an update as soon as there's news on the horizon. Thanks again for your guidance, and keep an eye out for my update! Drive safe!

Hey there, your issue sounds a lot like an ordeal I went through with my 2013 Nissan X-Trail – same brand and similar year, so strap in! I'm no mechanic but I'd say I have some experience dealing with car problems. In my case, it was down to the injector being internally defective. I noticed pretty much the same issue, black smoke, problems accelerating and shaky engine. It felt like my car was wrestling an invisible bear every time I tried to get anywhere! In the end, I took it to my local workshop. The dudes over there confirmed my suspicions and replaced the faulty injector. It cost me about 515 Euro. After the fix, it was smooth driving once again, no problems! So in your case, my advice would be to get it checked out for possible injector issues. But I'm wondering what's the mileage on your Rogue, and have you tried any fixes so far? A bit more info would definitely help me try to give you more detailed advice. Hang in there, weird car issues can be super frustrating but there's always a solution!
