Seeking Advice for Warning Light Issue on 2020 Mercedes EQV Electric Model Possibly Due to Low Brake Fluid Level

Warning light in the speedometer of the vehicle

Hey! I've got a bit of a strange issue with my Mercedes EQV 2020, Electric engine model. I've noticed the warning light popping up on the speedometer recently, which got me thinking, it could be due to a low brake fluid level. Has anyone else encountered something similar? If you got this issue sorted out in a service center, I'd appreciate hearing about your experience and any troubleshooting advice. Cheers!

Hey there! I had a similar issue with my Mercedes E-Class 2018, it's not exactly the same model but close enough. For context, I'd say I've got some experience with cars, not a complete pro but not a newbie either. In my case, the issue went beyond the brake fluid, and indeed, the warning sign was due to worn-out brakes. I got it fixed at my local garage, where they had to replace the brake pads and discs, a rather simple job for any mechanic and cost me 480 Euro. However, it's essentially important to get detailed diagnostics as the problem could also be related to other parts of the brake system or a different warning altogether. Can you share more details about when the warning light comes on and if you notice any changes in braking performance? Plus, does it happen consistently or only under certain conditions?

Hey, appreciate your quick response! Over here it's still a relatively low mileage at 14758, so wouldn't have expected worn-out brakes so early on. As far as the warning light goes, it seems pretty consistent. It pops up every time I'm out and about, regardless of the driving conditions. Not noticed any significant changes in the brake performance yet though, which is what kinda threw me off balance. If it's alright with you, I might nip down to my local garage for a diagnostic, just to be on the safe side. Thanks for your help.

Hey there! Glad I could help out a bit. Your car indeed has low mileage and brake wear seems unlikely - though heavy city driving can cause early wear even at low miles. But if braking performance seems ok, that somewhat rules it out too. With that warning light popping consistently, I’d certainly recommend getting that diagnostic done as soon as possible. It could be something as simple as getting the brake fluid topped up, a sensor malfunction, or even something more complicated. Better to be safe than sorry, right? Remember that although our vehicles share the same manufacturer, the electric model - like yours - sometimes has its own unique quirks. Best of luck and let us know how it goes at the garage. This info could help more around here! Cheers.

Couldn't agree more. Better safe than sorry. Will get that diagnostic done asap and fingers crossed it's nothing too complicated. Will keep you posted. Much appreciated for your advice and help. Drives me nuts a bit as this is the first time I've encountered such a strange occurrence. But thankfully like you have come to the rescue. Cheers and take care!
