Hey there! Your situation sounds eerily similar to the trouble I had with my '06 Volvo S60. Pesky engine acted up, with the power dips and check engine light becoming a regular occurrence - total nightmare! I suspected the intake manifold pressure sensor too, and sure enough, a trip to the mechanic confirmed it. That short wire issue that mentioned? Spot on. Mine was also a case of lost connectivity, took a fair bit of wire tracing, but they managed to fix it up good as new. Just remember, a quick fix ain't gonna cut it here. Out of curiosity, do you remember how much the repair cost you? And, did you face any other problems with your Volvo since? Just trying to figure out if I might have something else lined up next on my car's 'surprise menu'! Stay safe out there!

Hey again, Good to know we're all in the same Volvo boat, huh? Yeah, the old intake manifold pressure sensor problem hit me as well. I felt that exact pain you described - could have used a stress ball every time I hit the road! Regarding the repair bill, it cost me a cool 95€. A fair price in my book, considering they needed to straighten out the intake manifold pressure sensor wiring which was open or shorted. Sounds simple, but those tech guys did a load of tracing from the sensor up to the ECU to pin down the issue. Not something I'd tackle myself, that's for sure! As for any more surprises from our beloved Volvos? Well, touch wood, but since sorting out the manifold pressure sensor, my baby's been running smooth. Feels like a different car altogether! Fingers crossed it stays that way. Ride on!

Hey, it's strangely comforting to know I'm not alone in this Volvo rollercoaster, right? Thanks for the detailed low-down, Guys. It's been enlightening to hear from those who've battled the same engine demons. To address your question, - yeah, my mechanic charged me around 90 €. That whole bit about tracing the sensor to the ECU seems like a quest for only the courageous and skilled. So, feels good to have professionals dealing with it. Gave up DIY fixes after I couldn't figure out how to change a simple bulb without triggering a disco party in my car! Fingers double-crossed that the only light that comes on now is the one reminding me to fasten my seat belt. Your experiences give me hope, s. Let's hope my Volvo now behaves! Happy and safe driving, y'all. Cheers!

Hey, Sounds like a familiar song to on my end. I encountered a similar problem while driving my '10 Volvo V70 Diesel. Stuttering acceleration, less power, even that blinking check engine light spooked me. Turned out, it was indeed the intake manifold pressure sensor wiring that was giving me fits. Based on my recent experience at the garage, this problem mostly arises from either an open or shorted sensor wiring harness. Most likely, the wire had lost its connectivity or there was a voltage issue. My mechanic had to go in there, trace the entire wiring structure from the sensor to the ECU, and find out where the problem lied. In the end, it was actually a shorted wire that was causing all the ruckus. It can be a bit of serious issue, if left unchecked. Not in a "your car will explode" kind of way, but more in an "it'll keep getting worse and cause more headaches" way. It's best you get it checked out ASAP before more damage is done. Good luck with it! Be sure your mechanic does a thorough job!
