Hey, thanks for replying. Regarding the fuel filler flap, it does seem a bit off. It hasn't been closing as smoothly as before, now you mention it. I've certainly racked up some mileage on the ol' beast. She's done about 89087 km so far. The latest service was just like a standard oil change and routine check-up. Do you reckon I should get this harness thing checked out next, then? Your input is super helpful, cheers!
Hey, glad my previous experience could help provide some insight. It really does sound like the wiring harness could be the culprit here. Given the symptoms you've described, especially the bit about the flap not closing right, I'd suggest getting that checked out ASAP. Don't wait too long ya know, these things have a sneaky way of escalating. The workshop could quickly diagnose it for you, and it shouldn't dent your wallet too much. Plus, considering the mileage your '09 Rio's clocked, it's probably still a cheaper fix than a new car, right? At least in my case, the relief of sorting out the check engine light and "Fault Stored" message for 155€ felt like a win. And look at it this way, you know how confusing cars can get, but you've potentially cracked this issue! You might not be a self-proclaimed car guru, but hey, we're all learning, right? So yeah head down to your local garage and get your fuel filler flap wiring harness examined. Good luck and do keep me posted on how it goes!
Thanks again for the sound advice. You're right about the escalating part. Last thing I need is the car conking out on me in the middle of nowhere. And you've hit the nail on the head there - a repair job is way cheaper than a new car, and I like the idea of getting that "Fault Stored" message vanished for about 155€. As for the car guru part, yeah, we do learn something new every day, huh? No harm getting that wire harness checked, I reckon. I'll head to the workshop first thing tomorrow morning and see what's what. Must say, this was a real lifesaver, cheers! I'll keep you in the loop about what they find out. Stay safe out there!
Hey there, I had a pretty similar snag with my '07 Kia Spectra, pretty much her sister car. I'm not a full-on car guru, but I've got some experience under the hood from dealing with my own ride. Turned out, my problem was a Defective fuel filler flap wiring harness. The "Fault Stored" messages and those lights you mentioned sound pretty familiar to me. I took my car to my local workshop, and it was sorted out for about 155€. Could be the same thing with you. To give you a hand with more details though, could you tell me whether you've experienced any unusual behavior when refueling? Maybe it's not closing properly or something similar? It'd be nice to know more about how your '09 Rio is behaving.
