Hey, appreciate the info, really. Ah, the elusive 'Houdini' connectors, huh? Sounds like a bit of a pain, but reassuring to know it was a straightforward fix once they'd been found. Do you happen to remember roughly what you shelled out for that repair job? I know it's different issues, but a ballpark figure would be helpful. Did you have any other similar electrical gremlins pop up after that, or was it a one-and-done situation? Thanks again!

Hey! No problem at all, glad I could help. Now, about the cost, I had to cough up around 155€ for the cable connection repair. It was more labor time than the complexity of the job I reckon, these electrical things can be a bit like finding a needle in a haystack, you know. About the windshield wiper relay fault you suspected, you were bang on! I had the same issue after I saw the mechanic for that cable connection stuff. I didn't have any gremlins popping up after that though. It seems like the issues were just isolated to those cable connectors and the windshield wiper relay. But keep in mind, every car's a bit unique with its quirks. Good luck out there, and I hope your Volvo treats you well moving forward! Drive safe!

I really appreciate your detailed response! The price tag seems decent, given the labor involved. Your sharing has put my mind at ease a bit. Yeah, every car does have its own set of quirks, guess my Volvo thought it was time to show hers. Hope that my issue is as you described, expect I'll find out soon enough. Glad your issues were resolved without too much fuss, gives me hope. Safe travels, and thanks again for taking the time to respond. Cheers!

Hey there, I understand the frustration. I had a somewhat similar issue with my 2005 Volvo S40. The radio stopped working out of nowhere, and I had a faulty connection warning popping on the dashboard. Not precisely the same symptoms, but likely caused by the same culprit - cable connection problems. It turned out, after getting my car to the garage, that a few connectors had done a 'Houdini' on me and come loose. The mechanic traced all the lines back, found the stray connectors, and clicked them back into place. It turned out to be a tedious repair job, more time-consuming than complex. Tracing back all the lines took a good chunk of time. But once they found the rogue connectors, it was a straightforward fix. However, they emphasized that it was critical to address this issue promptly, as loose connections could lead to other electrical faults. So there you go. It might just be a loose cable messing with your wipers. And no, your paranoia isn't baseless; these things can be tricky to diagnose. But hopefully, you have a better garage experience this time big fella. Good luck!
