Appreciate the insight! It's backed up at 51485 KM, and the last service was just a few weeks ago. No firmware updates though. I'll check out the cables and plug connections as you mentioned. That 95 euro fix sounds a lot better than a sensor replacement. Fingers crossed it's just a minor problem. Safe driving!
Good to hear! With that kind of mileage and recent service, your Cabrio is quite a decent bird! Yeah, fingers crossed the plug and cables hitch is the villain here - it's usually the little gremlins that cause the most hassle. I'd just recommend keeping a watchful eye on that warning light, though. If it keeps popping up, the Hall sensor might still be in the game. Don't hesitate to reach back if anything else comes up and keep us posted on what the mechanic says! Keep revving!
You're a lifesaver! I'll be on the lookout for any recurring issues, especially that darn warning light. I swear if the Hall sensor is acting up after all, I might as well put up a fight at trivia night as a car buff, huh? Anyway, here's hoping it's a cinch like you said. I will definitely give you guys an update if I uncover anything new. Until then, let's keep these machines roaring!
Hey! Funny you should ask. I've got a 2008 Mini Cooper, pretty similar to your Cabrio. I'm no petrolhead (I have some experience, yet I'm more of a brush up and drive on kind), and I had a similar problem. Took the old girl to my local mechanic and turns out, it was the cables or plug connection that were playing tricks, not the Hall sensor. A quick shuffle around cost me about 95 Euro but she runs like a charm and the warning light has retired. However, it would be more helpful and I can give a more detailed insight if you could share more about the vehicle, like mileage, any recent maintenance or firmware updates? Stay greasy!
