Hey, appreciate you chiming in with your experience. Sounds mighty close to my ordeal with my Forte - kinda confirms my suspicion about the camshaft sensor, eh? Been a real fly in the ointment, that's for sure. Purely out of curiosity, do you happen to remember what you forked out to fix the cheeky thing? Also, has anything else played up since you got your sensor sorted, or has your Optima been behaving itself? Cheers!

Hey, glad I could help confirm your suspicion. The bloody camshaft sensor was truly a thorn in my side. As for the costs, it did set me back 695.00 € as the culprit was a defective sensor wheel on the camshafts. Bit pricey, but hey, whatever gets the ride going smoothly amirite? And you know what? It's been all good since I had it sorted out. No more acting like a drama queen on cold mornings or throwing a fit with the engine power. I tell ya, it's a night and day difference! You should definitely consider getting it fixed up; it's done wonders for my nerves, and not to mention the performance. Cheers!

Thanks! Strongly reckon the fee you coughed up is peanuts for peace of mind and a smooth ride, eh? It's brilliantly reassuring to know that your Optima has been kosher ever since. Guess it's high time I took the plunge and booked an appointment with the garage. Better to clean up this mess before she throws a bigger tantrum! Thanks for the head's up, appreciate it big time! Cheers!

Hey! I feel your pain. I ran into a similar situation with my 2015 Kia Optima. Same symptoms as you. Engine light coming on like a Christmas tree, engine cutting out like an overworked office-worker and cold starts were an absolute nightmare. Power? Let's not even go there. Fair to say, I was pulling my hair out on what was wrong. Eventually, I got it to my trusty mechanic. After giving it a once-over, he told me that the camshaft sensor was acting up. And from what you’re saying, it sounds like your camshaft sensor is on the fritz too. You'll be glad to know that it wasn’t deemed to be a massively serious issue, but it's damn annoying. When mine went bust, it disrupted the timing of fuel injection and ignition, thus the annoying issues. I'll say though, not starting at all is a bit worrisome. Might be a good time to have a mechanic take a look at it just to be sure. Mine didn't have that problem. I hope this helps. Best to bite the bullet and get that sensor issue sorted sooner rather than later. It just messes with your vibe every time the engine light comes on or the car starts acting up. Good luck!
