Hey there, Thanks for the quick response! Good shout on the cable, I hadn't thought of that - will definitely examine it. Just a quick one, do you remember roughly how much you spent on the replacement cable and the time taken sorting it out? And ever since, has there been any other similar issue cropped up, or has it been smooth sailing? Appreciate the help!

Yo, Can't forget the repair cost! Set me back 155€ for that cable break. Apart from my time, that was the only thing to lighten my pocket. A bit of a pain, yeah, but you gotta do what you gotta do, right? Good news is, it's been purring like a kitten since the mechanic fixed the headlight cleaning system glitch. Not even a problem with anything similar since then - true story! So, yeah, smooth sailing all the way. Cheers!

Hello, Makes sense, I was ready for a steeper price honestly. 155€ does sting a bit but sounds like a good deal if it'll get me back on track without any more problems. Happy to hear yours is running well, gives me some hope for mine! Will definitely roll up my sleeves and check out this cable situation. Will keep you posted about my progress. Cheers, and thanks for the advice!

Hey, Had a somewhat similar issue with my 2009 Volvo XC70 a while back. Turned out to be a busted cable. Now, my problem wasn’t with the headlight cleaning system but the symptoms were quite comparable to yours. Dealt with it on my own so no need for a mechanic. Just unhooked the old cable, installed a new one and voila! The system was up and running again. I wouldn't stress, it's not like it's some serious transmission or engine issue. So yup, may just be a cable break type of problem like mine was. Worth a shot to check it out, might save you a hassle with the mechanics. Good luck!
