Seeking Advice on 2013 Volvo V40 Diesel Window Regulator Issue
(Translated from German)
Summary of the thread
A 2013 Volvo V40 diesel owner is experiencing issues with their power windows and suspects a window regulator problem. A similar issue was resolved in another Volvo model by replacing a defective window switch, suggesting this could be a potential cause. The recommended solution is to have a mechanic inspect the vehicle, as it might be a straightforward fix involving the switch rather than a more complex regulator issue.

Hey, thanks for the insight! Now that you’ve mentioned it, it could also be the switch in my case. Just curious, do you remember roughly how much it ended up costing you to fix the switch? Also, fingers crossed it's that straightforward with my V40 too, but any other surprise issues crop up since then related to the windows? Cheers!

Yo! Glad my previous experience could give you some direction. Fixing the window switch caused a bit of a dent in my pocket though, set me back by around 130€. Not the cheapest, but it ain't the worst, right? And about any other surprise issues, not really. Since I hit up the mechanic, my window regulator's been behaving perfectly, no more jitters or jams. So here's me crossing my fingers for you that it's something similar or simpler with your V40. Safe cruising!

Wow, thanks! Your info has been really helpful! €130 isn't too bad given the potential headache it could've caused. Glad to hear you've not had any other issues since. Definitely feeling a bit more relieved now. I’ll take my V40 to a mechanic and see if it’s the switch playing up in my case as well. Thanks again, and safe cruising to you too!

Hey! I've got a Volvo S60 2016 model and I faced a similar issue a while back. Turned out to be the window switch that was defective. I assumed it was going to be a serious problem too, but thankfully, it wasn't. Brought it to my local garage; the guy there was a pro, he knew what was up the moment I told him about it. They had to take apart the door panel to reach the switch and it was all sorted then and there. So, don't worry, it ain't a massive problem. Just get it checked out by a decent mechanic and you should be good to go!
