Seeking advice on 2015 Dacia Dokker Gasoline Emitting Black Smoke with Power Loss and Suspected Lambda Sensor Issue
Summary of the thread
A 2015 Dacia Dokker Gasoline is experiencing issues with black smoke emission, power loss, and poor fuel economy, with the engine light on. The initial suspicion is a faulty Lambda sensor, which could affect the air-fuel mixture balance. Suggestions include checking for an exhaust system leak or a malfunctioning O2 sensor, both of which could cause similar symptoms. The plan is to consult a mechanic to diagnose and resolve the issue.

Heya! Thanks for your input. I've not run any diagnostic tests or checked under the hood myself yet - not much of a hands-on guy when it comes to cars. I've been focusing on hitting that mileage of 104567 KM, haha! My last service was more recent than when your issue popped up, but I suppose every car has its ups and downs. I'll head over to my usual garage and mention the possible exhaust system leak. Appreciate the help!

No worries at all! Glad to lend a helping hand. Yeah, you're right about the ups and downs - owning a car can feel like a rollercoaster ride at times! One more suggestion before you visit your garage, since you mentioned Lambda sensor, sometimes a malfunctioning O2 sensor could cause similar issues. If it's not properly regulating the balance between air and fuel mixture, it can lead to symptoms like black smoke, check engine light, or poor fuel economy. So you might want to get that checked out too. But, anyway, fingers crossed my experience helps you out - I know it's a pain when our trusted four-wheeled friends start acting haywire. Keep us updated about what your mechanic says! Cheers!

Thanks a ton for the heads up about the O2 sensor, never thought about that before. You're a lifesaver! Now I've got a couple of possibilities to chat over with my mechanic and get this sorted. Will definitely keep y'all in the loop. Cheers for the help, and fingers crossed the repair doesn't burn a hole in my pocket! Catch you later.

Hey there! Looks like we both got stuck in a similar situation. I own a 2013 Dacia Sandero Diesel that ran me into some similar related trouble about a 1.5 year ago. I'm just an average Joe in terms of car knowledge, no mechanic genie here, but have some basic know-how. For me, it turned out, after a trip to my trusty garage, that there was a leak in my exhaust system. After inspection, mechanics remedied it for around 265€. They've done a really professional job at a fair price. Just out of curiosity, have you run any diagnostic tests or checked anything under the hood? It might just save you some time and probably a chunk of change. More details about your Dacia Dokker might help to narrow down what could be wrong.
