Seeking Advice on 2017 Dacia Lodgy's Transmission Slippage and ABS Warning Light Issue

Transmission slips/shifts erratically

Whining or grinding noises

ABS warning light

Hey! I've got a weird issue going on with my 2017 Dacia Lodgy running on petrol. The transmission has started slipping and shifting in odd ways. There's a whining noise and ABS warning light popping up, too. I reckon it could be something to do with the transfer case emergency running control being on, but I'm not entirely sure. Has anyone faced similar issues and got it sorted out via a service center? Any tips or experience sharing would be appreciated.

Hey there, had a similar headache with my 2015 Dacia Duster a while back. I'd say I have some experience tinkering cars, not an expert so went to my local garage. Turns out it was a consequential error in the dynamic stability control messing up the transmission and showing that ABS warning. All said and done, they fixed it miraculously without burning a hole in my wallet, cost me 0€. So, that's the good news! Tell me, have there been any prior warning signs or related incidents with this Lodgy? More details about your vehicle would help to sort this out further. Cheers.

Hola and thanks for chiming in. No prior warnings whatsoever! It drove smooth as butter until the oddities kicked in suddenly. It's done a decent mileage of 138257 km, last serviced around six months ago. I did have my transmission fluid and coolant checked at that time, all seemed okay then. Never faced an issue with the dynamic stability control, but, from your experience, that might be worthwhile to check out. Also surprised by the 'zero' cost, must've been your lucky day! Planning to take it into the garage soon, fingers crossed it won't be heavy on the pocket either. Cheers!

Hey again! Yeah, sounds eerily similar to my Duster situation. Thing just went bonkers overnight. Luckily for me, it was just the dynamic stability control having a moment, no parts needed changing or anything dramatic, hence the zero bill. I'd recommend you tell your garage folks to look into it first, and also recheck your transmission fluid. And yeah, it wasn't just a lucky day, it's having solid connections in the right places! Just keep your fingers crossed and hope it's nothing major like the transfer case. Will be waiting to hear how it goes, good luck!

Ah, makes total sense! I'm sort of relieved now, knowing someone who has faced a similar issue. I'll surely have the dynamic stability control and my transmission fluid checked again, maybe even the transfer case, just to be safe. And you're right, having the right connections does go a long way in these situations! Well, I'm off to the garage then, and hopefully, it's nothing major. I'll definitely keep you in the loop about how it turns out, cheers for now!
