Seeking Advice on 2018 Dacia Lodgy's ABS/DSC System and Airbag Warning Lights Issues

ABS/DSC system is not working

ABS warning light

Airbag warning light

Hey, my 2018 Dacia Lodgy with a petrol engine is acting weird. I've been seeing the Airbag and ABS warning lights on, and my ABS/DSC system seems to be on the fritz. I suspect that the lateral acceleration sensor might be causing problems, but I'm no expert. Has anyone faced a similar issue and how did your mechanic handle it? Thanks in advance for any advice or recommendations you can provide!

Hey there, I ran into a similar issue with my 2016 Dacia Logan. For context, I ain't no mechanic, but I have enough experience to get by (some might say 'low experience'). Ended up taking it to my local workshop after a bit of trial and error. It turned out to be a bummed ABS/DSC control unit and had to replace it to the tune of 1000€. Might be worth checking your Lodgy for the same issue. Out of interest, can you tell me more about any recent work you've had done? Or any specific symptoms apart from the warning lights? The more info I have, the more suggestions I could toss your way.

Hey! Cheers for the reply. Last serviced my Lodgy at 51603 KM, was just the regular maintenance stuff, oil change n' all. Besides the warning lights, I've also noticed a sort of pulsating feeling when I'm braking, kind of like the ABS is kickin' in when it shouldn't. Haven't had any recent work done on it though. Really hope it ain't a control unit issue, sounds like a pricey fix, but I appreciate the heads up. Gotta make sure my ride's safe n' all, right?

Hey there, your description of a pulsating feeling definitely suggests it’s ABS related. My Logan also showed similar symptoms just before the control unit needed replacement. It's like the ABS kicks in irregularly, right? If it's the same ordeal, then it might just be that control unit acting up. I know how you feel about the price; trust me, it pinched my pocket too. But safety first, especially with something as serious as the ABS/DSC. It's worth getting it checked out at a reliable workshop. If it IS the control unit, there may not be much of a workaround other than replacement, unfortunately. Do keep us updated on the situation! Crossin' my fingers it's something less expensive for ya. Safe drivin'.

Hello again, I can't thank you enough for your insight. Yeah, the ABS is definitely doing a jig when it shouldn't. Honestly, I've been driving around, keeping my fingers crossed that it's just a sensor issue. But hearing about your experience, I reckon I'll have it checked out at my local workshop pretty soon. Not thrilled about the potential costs, but you're right – can't compromise on safety. Keep you posted on what they find. Drive safe!
