Hey! Thanks for throwing that out there - I hadn't considered the alternator. You got my attention with your similar experience and problem-solving on that Tucson. Do you mind jogging your memory and let me know how deep you had to dig into your wallet for the alternator change? Also, has anything related popped up since the fix or has it been smooth motoring? Cheers in advance!
Hey! No problem! So, if my memory serves me right, I did cough up about €290.00 to get the battery voltage sorted. A bit salty, I know, but hey, it did the trick! Since that visit to the garage, my Tucson's been running like a dream. No more starting issues or funny lights playing disco on my dash. Initially, I thought too that it could be a fault in the engine control, but luckily, the mechanic was able to trace it back to the battery voltage being too low. Cleared that up and it's been smooth motoring since then, just like you asked! Bottom line - it’s always important to suss out the right fault, could save you a lot of worries (and cash!). Cheers!
Hey there, Wow, €290.00 might be a bit spicy on the wallet, but if that's gonna clear up my Kona's problem, I figure it might be a wise investment. I was just tired of my car pulling a disco with those lights and that ostentatious start. Sounds like your experience with the mechanic was pretty straight-up too, and your Tucson is doing fine post the fix - definitely gives me some peace of mind. Yep, you nailed it about sussing out the right fault - what a headache it is when you're off the mark and end up draining more time and dinero! Thanks for the lead and the chat - really eased my worries. Catch you on the flip side and happy motoring! Cheers!
Hey there, I had a similar issue with my 2016 Hyundai Tucson a while back. The symptoms were pretty much exactly what you're describing. I also thought it could have been the engine control, but when I took it to the garage, they traced the problem back to the charging system - turned out to be the alternator was failing to maintaining the right voltage in the battery. It wasn't a huge deal though they had to replace the alternator. Once done, the battery charged properly and the symptoms vanished. So, it might be worth checking out your alternator before jumping to conclusions about the engine control misbehaving. Good luck!
