Thanks for the info! Really appreciate your insight. Sounds like quite the ordeal you went through with your Kadjar. By any chance, can you remember how much you had to cough up to solve this problem? And have you noticed anything else wrong with the car since you fixed the crankcase ventilation issue? Cheers!
Hey there, glad to help! I had to shell out around 360€ to put the crankcase ventilation issue to rest. Yup, not the lightest fare, but it wasn't as much of a knockout as one might fear. And I promise it was worth every penny. It was a one-time expenditure that ultimately saved me lots of headaches and possible additional expenses down the road. As for any other issues, the car's been running smooth. That repair job really hit the nail on the head, and the mechanic did a solid job. I mean, it's been a good stretch since then, and I've not encountered any more engine warnings or shuddies during acceleration and idling. The fuel economy's come back on track too, doing its thing like before. So you better believe there's been a major improvement ever since I fixed the crankcase ventilation. Hope that puts your worries to rest a bit there. Keep us posted and best of luck. Cheers.
Ah, thanks so much for the breakdown! €360 does seem like a pretty penny, but you're right, better to deal with it now than having it turn into a bigger, costlier problem down the line. It's reassuring to hear that the fix not only resolved the main issue, but has been holding up well and has brought back the fuel efficiency too. You've given me some confidence in tackling this. I'll start my search for a motor repair specialist pronto. I appreciate all the advice! Will keep you guys in the loop. Cheers!
Hey, sounds like a classic case of a crankcase ventilation issue to me. In fact, I had something similar going on with my 2016 Renault Kadjar last year. The engine shudders were the first sign for me as well, along with poor fuel efficiency and the engine warning light coming on at odd times. Turned out, the issue was indeed with the crankcase ventilation. It was a fair bit of work; had to replace the PCV valve and clean the whole crankcase ventilation system. I don't usually do my own car maintenance, so you can imagine I was pretty worried. Ended up finding a trusted local mechanic who specializes in these models, and he sorted everything out for me. To be frank, even though this might not be the worst issue to have, it's certainly something that you shouldn't ignore. It’s important to get it checked out and fixed as soon as possible, as it can lead to bigger engine troubles down the line. I can also tell you this from my experience, having your car stalling or losing power in the middle of the road is never fun. So, better find a good mechanic and get it sorted soon. All the best with it. Cheers.
