Seeking Advice on 2020 Renault Arkana Navigation System Malfunction

Hey everyone, I'm having a bit of an odd issue with my 2020 Renault Arkana. The navigation system has suddenly stopped working, which I suspect could be a message error between control devices. Has anyone else experienced something like this before? Would really appreciate any tips or insights into resolving this issue, or hearing about your experiences with similar problems. If possible, I'd be particularly interested in hearing about any fixes that worked for you at the workshop. Thanks a bunch!

Hey there, had the same issue with my 2018 Renault Kadjar not too long ago. I'm not a car guru by any means, but know some bits from constant tinkering. At the workshop, they did some diagnostics and it was a damage in the CAN BUS system. Got it fixed for about 235 euro. Could you share more about your Arkana - like model specifics? It might help to give you a more detailed insight. Cheers!

Appreciate the response! Well, my Arkana is running on a gasoline engine, clocking a mileage of around 111961 km. The last maintenance service was done just a few weeks back, didn't face any major issues then. Any specific insights or DIY tricks you reckon would work for my situation? Cheers!

Hey, glad to share more from my experience. Given your Arkana's specifics, it's quite likely that the cause could be similar to my Kadjar's issue. These navigation systems indeed rely on the CAN BUS system for communication and your mileage also suggests that it might need some attention. Before you rush to a workshop and spend a fortune, you could try doing a soft reset first. On some Renault models, you can do this by holding down the power button on your infotainment system for about 15 seconds until the system reboots. This might solve the issue if it's a simple software glitch. If this doesn't help, I fear it might be time to get the professionals involved. Remember to ask them to inspect the CAN BUS system specifically. Let me know how it goes! Best of luck!

Hello, you're an absolute lifesaver! I tried the soft reset trick you mentioned and lo and behold, the navigation system seems to be running smoothly now. I reckon it was just a minor software glitch as you suggested. Going to keep an eye on it and if it acts up again, I'll definitely have the CAN BUS system checked out. Can't thank you enough for your help! Cheers!
