Seeking Advice on 2023 Seat Tarraco's Engine Light, Power Loss, DPF Regeneration Failure, and Possible Exhaust Back Pressure Sensor Issues

Fault stored

DPF regeneration failure

Check engine light on

Loss of engine power

Hey folks, I'm wrestling with a peculiar issue on my 2023 Seat Tarraco with a gas engine. Recently, the engine light has turned on and the car's been losing power. There's also a failure in DPF regeneration and a stored fault showing up. I have a hunch the exhaust back pressure sensor could be acting up. Anybody experienced something similar, particularly how you got your ride fixed up in the workshop? Would really appreciate any advice to get my motor running smoothly again. Cheers!

Hey there! I've got a 2021 Seat Ateca, pretty close to your Tarraco. I’d consider myself to have some experience, but I’m no professional mechanic, just a car enthusiast. Faced a similar issue a while back. My engine light popped on and I had power loss, too. Turned out the problem was indeed with the DPF - it was severely overloaded. Ended up taking it to my local workshop and they managed to get it fixed up. Had to fork out about 1325 Euro though, pretty steep. So, it's likely the same issue with your Tarraco. Could you tell me the mileage and last service date of your car? It would help me understand the exact situation and give some more detailed advice. Hang in there!

Hey there! Appreciate the solidarity. My Tarraco's got 187583 km on it. Last service was just a few weeks ago. I thought all was good post-service but the DPF issue popped up outta nowhere. Hard to digest that whopping 1325 Euro though, fingers crossed that I won't be dealing with something as severe. I'll get my car checked out and will keep you posted on what the workshop has to say. Cheers for the advice!

Hey! Oh, with that kind of mileage, your Tarraco is quite a road warrior. These types of issues can indeed pop up in higher mileage vehicles. And I completely get you, repair costs can be a hard pill to swallow. But at the end of the day, safety and smooth functionality are crucial. Just remember, it might not necessarily be as severe as my case was. Yours could be something less severe, like a sticky EGR valve or a minor DPF issue. Get it diagnosed as soon as you can. A professional mechanic would be able to zero in on the actual issue and give you a clear picture of what's needed to fix it. Yeah, keep us updated. Sending best wishes for your Tarraco's quick recovery. Drive safe!

Hi again! I appreciate the optimism, hope it’s something less severe indeed. The professional diagnosis seems like a way to go and it’s currently on top of my to-do list. You’re right, no compromise on safety and smooth functionality, no matter the cost. Cheers for all the guidance and well-wishes, really helps to ease the worry. Will surely keep you in the loop about what's up with my Tarraco. Take care and happy driving!
