Seeking Advice on Airbag Warning Light Issue in 2021 Renault Arkana Hybrid

Hey all, My 2021 Renault Arkana Hybrid (59,736 km on the clock) has been nagging me with its Airbag Warning Light and it shows a fault stored. I got a hunch it could be an Airbag System Failure, which has me worried due to a not so great experience with the last mechanic. Has anyone faced similar issues? Could use some advice about your experience and the mechanic you trusted for the fix. Keep it real, cheers!

Hey there, I feel you. Had a similar problem with my 2016 Renault Kadjar (around 60,000 km mileage too). Had the airbag warning light showing and giving me nightmares. Managed to get it to a trusted mechanic friend and turns out, it was indeed an airbag system component failure. The culprit was a faulty crash sensor. These sensors are designed to detect a crash and enable the airbags to deploy. Let me tell ya, it wasn't a minor issue at all. This sensor malfunction can render the whole airbag system pretty much useless and that's a serious safety concern! Remember, never ignore airbag warning lights. Hope this gives you some direction. Cheers!

Hey, guys, I'm in the same boat with my 2021 Renault Arkana Hybrid (hit 62,000km last week) and the stubborn airbag warning light. Glad to know I'm not the only one, though I wish none of us were dealing with this headache. Love your advice, about the crash sensor. I reckon I'll have it checked out soonest. Hey, if you don't mind me asking, do you recall how much you forked out to deal with this nasty issue? And has anything else come up since? I sure could use a heads-up. Toasting to a quick fix-and-forget it kind of deal with a pint on me at our local! Cheers.

hello, Great to hear you're getting it checked out, always play it safe where safety is concerned, right? To answer your question, after taking it to my good ole' mechanic, the airbag system was fully restored. The best part, it ended up costing me…brace yourself…nothing, zip, nada! Yep, you read that right! A solid €0 to fix the defective airbag system components. Since then, it’s been smooth sailing. Haven’t had any issues pop up again related to the airbag system. It's just like before, and the airbag warning light has stayed off, thankfully. So here's hoping the same for you! Go sort it out and join us for that pint soon at the local! Keep me posted, cheers!

Appreciate the quick responses, lads! You've really eased my tension, especially with the €0 repair cost (Fingers crossed!). I'm putting my Arkana Hybrid in the hands of a mechanic friend, who comes highly recommended. Scheduled to drop by his garage this weekend. The crash sensor check is at the top of my list now thanks to you. Your experiences have served more than advice right now. I'll keep you all updated about what happens. And rest assured, the first round's on me when we catch up at the local after this whole deal is sorted. Cheers and thanks again!

Hello, I drove into a pothole with the right side of my 2011 Renault Laguna and suddenly the airbag light came on. I was able to clear it once, but every time my son sits in the back seat it comes back on. I hope someone can help me here.

Check the connections under the passenger and rear seats, as they can sometimes become loose or damaged, especially after a jolt like hitting a pothole. Ensure all connectors are secure. If the issue persists, it might be wise to have a professional inspect it, as airbag system faults can be a safety concern. Let me know how it goes or if you have more questions!

Hello, thank you for the quick reply. The culprit is probably under the passenger seat, either the connector or the relay is hanging down. Thank you very much

Make sure to secure the connector properly and check for any visible damage. If the issue continues after securing it, consider having a professional take a look to ensure everything is functioning safely. Let me know if you have any further questions or need more assistance!
