Seeking Advice on Dacia Lodgy's Navigation and Audio System Malfunction

Hey! I've got a 2019 Dacia Lodgy with a petrol engine and has done 34,436 KM. Recently, my navigation and audio system have given up on me and I'm suspecting it might be due to a signal error in the audio system. Last mechanic encounter wasn't great and so I'm hesitant about heading straight back. Anyone had similar problems? What was your experience like with your mechanic? Would really appreciate some advice before I potentially walk back into another mess. Cheers!

Summary of the thread

A 2019 Dacia Lodgy owner is experiencing issues with the navigation and audio system, suspecting a signal error. Another person shared a similar experience with a different Dacia model, where the problem was traced to a fault in the infotainment system's data transmitter. The solution involved replacing the faulty hardware, which resolved the issue. It is suggested to seek a reliable mechanic with good reviews to address the problem effectively.

Hey! I can relate to your issue. My 2016 Dacia Sandero had similar problems a while back. The screen started playing up, and the audio system went haywire. Turned out it wasn't just a signal error, but an issue with the infotainment system itself. When I took it to the garage last time, they had to do a bit of poking around before zeroing in on the root cause. It ended up being a fault in the data transmitting part of the system hardware, not a super common issue but one that does crop up now and again. After identifying this, they replaced that bit and the whole thing went back to normal. Fun fact, it was also affecting my navigation system just like yours. Now, I'm good to go without any problems. As you mentioned your last mechanic visit wasn't great, I'd say consider trying a new garage with good reviews or ask around for recommendations. This wasn't an overnight fix, but after finding a reliable mechanic everything went smoothly. All's well that ends well, right? Good luck!

Hey there, your input is pretty handy. So it was the issue with the data transmitter, who knew that could mess up things like this. Do you recall how much it cost you for the fix-up? It’ll help me get a little prepared financially. And has anything else popped up related to the issue later on? Hard to trust these machines sometimes, isn't it? Thanks a bunch for your help!

Hey! Happy to help where I can. Well, as for your question about the cost, the fix on the display damage ran me up to around 725 Euro. So yeah, I feel you on the financial preparation side of things. Nifty update from my end - since that step with the mechanic, the audio system has been in stellar shape. No more pesky signal errors! Quite the relief, let me tell you. Touch wood, nothing else has popped up related to the issue. Seems like that visit to the mechanic did the trick. But you're right, sometimes these machines can give us a hard time. Anyway, keep your fingers crossed and best of luck!

Hello! Yeah, it's a bit pricey, but if it brings the peace of driving back, it's worth it, isn’t it? Glad to know it’s not some recurring problem. Anyway, thank you for sharing your experience, that was quite a relief. Really appreciate your help! I’ll find a mechanic who knows his things around this issue. Here's hoping for a smooth fix up. Cheers!
