Seeking Advice on Dealing with Transmission Issues in 2021 Renault Arkana Hybrid

Transmission slips/shifts erratically

Warning light in the speedometer of the vehicle

Grinding noise when shifting gears

Hey everyone, I'm having some trouble with my 2021 Renault Arkana Hybrid. Recently, it's been giving me issues like transmission slipping, making grinding noises when shifting gears, and showing a warning light on the speedometer. I'm starting to suspect it might be related to the transmission oil temperature sensor. Has anyone else come across this kind of malfunction before? I would love to hear about your experiences getting this fixed at the workshop and any troubleshooting tips you could share would be a big help. Thanks in advance!

Hey, I had a similar issue with my 2017 Renault Kadjar. Now, don't take my advice as gospel because I only have some experience when it comes to car troubles. Anyway, when I faced this problem, my local workshop determined the issue was actually due to the transmission oil level being too low. It ended up costing me about 365 euro to get it fixed. So, it might be worth checking if that's what's going on with your Arkana. Just to be sure, could you share more info about your vehicle? It'd be helpful in providing more specific advice. Good luck!

Hey there! Thanks for the quick response and this helpful insight. It's always good to hear from someone who faced a similar issue. As for more info, I had my last service at 68422 km and the vehicle's been running smooth till this issue popped up. I'll definitely look into the transmission oil level as you suggested. Seems like a good starting point before anything else. Again, thanks a lot! Appreciate it heaps.

Hey again! No worries, happy to help out. With the info you've provided, and based on my experience with my Kadjar, it does seem like a decent place to start would be the transmission oil level. Since you've driven quite a bit since your last service, it's possible the oil levels could've dropped. If not, your issue might indeed be related to the transmission oil temperature sensor as you initially suspected. Worst case scenario, you might need a transmission repair or even a replacement - but fingers crossed it doesn't come to that. Anyway, let me know how it goes after you've checked the oil level. Good luck, and don't stress too much!

Hey! That does make a lot of sense. I've quite a mileage since my last service, so the oil levels could be the culprit here. I'll go check the transmission oil level first thing tomorrow. Fingers crossed, it's just that and nothing more serious. Will definitely keep you posted on how things unfold. Thanks again for your input and the much-needed moral support! Doesn't feel as stressful now. Cheers!
