Seeking Advice on Diagnosing and Repairing Electrical Issues in 2022 Lexus NX

Hey! I'm dealing with some weird issues in my 2022 Lexus NX with a Gasoline engine. Seeing stuff like general electric problems, a kaput navigation system, and a warning light in the speedometer. I'm suspecting a problem with the Flex-Ray bus, but not totally sure. Has anyone else faced the same? I'm eager to hear about how you were able to diagnose and fix it at your workshop. Your experiences could be a real lifesaver!

Hi there, Oh, that sounds familiar! I had something similar with my 2020 Lexus RX a couple years back. Not an expert here, just a guy with some hands-on experience. I started noticing all sorts of electrical glitches and eventually traced it back to a defective cable/plug connection. I took my car to my local mechanic and he helped me identify and fix the issue. Based on your description, it reminds me of my ordeal! Overall, it set me back about 155€, and the Lexus started running smoothly again. Though, it's crucial to get the right diagnosis from a trusted workshop. Hey, could you provide a bit more info about your car, like any recent changes or symptoms? It'll be easier to troubleshoot. Cheers!

Hi! Thanks for sharing your experience. I had my last service at 128656 KM, and not long after, the issues started popping up. There were no significant modifications done, just general maintenance. The symptoms are unusual and popping up out of nowhere. The car runs fine one moment and the next, the navigation system crashes or USB ports stop working. I agree about needing the right diagnosis. I've thought about taking it back to the garage where it was serviced, hoping they might be able to pinpoint the issue. Thanks again for your advice!

Hey! Bummer about those issues - nothing worse than weird inconsistencies in your car. It could indeed be Flex-Ray bus-related, especially given the amount of software running in our cars these days. Though from my experience with my Lexus RX, I'd say checking the wiring and connections could still be worth a shot. The symptoms you're describing, like the navigation and the USB ports crashing, might indicate an electrical issue. Definitely take it back to the garage where it was serviced. Be sure to mention all the issues you've been having. Include even minor ones - you never know, it could help them in the diagnosis. And if they can't figure it out or the problem persists, don't hesitate to get a second opinion - I had to do the same with my car. Electronics can be a tricky beast, but with some persistence, you'll get it sorted. Good luck and let us know how it goes!

Hey! Appreciate your comprehensive insight - you're a lifesaver! I was so focused on the Flex-Ray bus, didn't think about the wiring having a role in this. You're right, the glitches are unusual, and I've started noting them down, so I don't miss any. Off I go to the garage, then. Yes, if needed, I might even get a second opinion. Fingers crossed, they figure out the root of the problem quickly. Will update you here once I find out more. Thanks again - You're a gem!
