Seeking Advice on Faulty Heated Windows in 2021 Seat Tarraco Diesel

Hey everyone, I've been having a strange issue with my 2021 Seat Tarraco Diesel. The heated windows aren't working and there is a fault logged. I was wondering if it might be a problem with the limited function of the windscreen heating. Has anyone else experienced this and have any advice on what I could do or what the issue might be? Particularly interested if you've had this fixed at a workshop. Appreciate any insights you might have!

Summary of the thread

The 2021 Seat Tarraco Diesel has a problem with non-functioning heated windows, accompanied by a logged fault. A possible cause could be a weak car battery, especially if the car was unused for a period or during cold weather. Other potential issues include an electrical fault or a software glitch. Suggested solutions include checking the battery, electrical system, and on-board computer at a workshop.

Hey there, I had a similar issue with my 2019 Seat Ateca, very much like your Tarraco. I ‘d say my car knowledge is somewhat okay-ish. When faced with this issue, took my car to my local workshop. Turned out, the car battery was weak, causing the heated windows function to not work properly. I paid around 290 Euro to have the battery replaced and, voilà, no more problems! By any chance, did your windows stop working after you left the car unused for some time or during extreme weather? It will be easier to help you if you can provide more details.

Hey, thanks for sharing your experience! As for your question, I didn't really notice a specific time when the windows stopped warming up - it's been off and on for a while now. Although now that you mention it, the weather has been quite chilly recently and I did leave the car unused for a few days during a recent trip. Your mention about the battery issue got me thinking, although my last service was just at 59275 KM and no battery issues were reported then. But I guess it could still be a possibility. I'll look into getting the battery checked out at my local workshop. Thanks again!

No problem, glad I could help! And yep, even though your service was fairly recent, batteries can behave unpredictably, especially in cold weather. Just a heads up though - sometimes this kind of stuff could be due to an electrical fault or even a common Seat software glitch. So if it's not the battery, I'd suggest getting the car's electrical system and on-board computer checked out too. Keep us posted on what you find!

Thanks for the additional advice. I hadn't considered the possibility of software glitch or an electrical fault and it's good to have these as other things to check. This weekend, I'll have my local workshop run a full diagnostics check on the battery, electricals, and the on-board computer. Fingers crossed it's a simple issue as you said. I'll drop an update here once I have it sorted out. Your help's been truly invaluable. Cheers!
