Seeking Advice on Fixing Electrical Issues and Terminal 30 Interruption in 2019 Hyundai Eon

Weak battery when starting the engine

Dim or flickering lights

General electric malfunction

Fault stored

Hey there car enthusiasts, I'm struggling with a problem with my 2019 Hyundai Eon with a Gasoline engine. Recently, I've been noticing some weird stuff happening like a general electric malfunction, a fault stored alert, dim or flickering lights, and a weak battery when starting it up. My hunch is it might be linked to an Interruption of terminal 30. Has anyone here dealt with something similar? What did your workshop do to fix it? Keen to hear your experiences and tips. Thanks in advance!

Hey there! Looks like you've got a bit of a bother on your hands. Have to say, I had a super similar situation with my 2017 Hyundai Grand i10 not so long ago. I’m no car whizz, consider myself with some experience, a DIY-er but, yeah, I can recognize a problem when I see one! My guy at the local workshop pegged it right off: Battery defective and discharged. I can tell you, it wasn't an easy realization that I had to part ways with my 290€, but hey, needs must. They basically replaced the battery and recharged it. It isn't a very DIY-able fix, considering all the specialized equipment used. That being said, before I can suggest any specifics, could you please throw in some more details about your Eon, like what sort of mileage you're on and if there's any warranty left? It would also help to know if you’ve checked the alternator and battery voltage, or done a battery drain test. That way we can gauge if your issue's the same as mine. Hope this helps a bit!

Hey there, thanks a ton for your insightful response. My Eon's sitting at around 26,631 KM currently and luckily, I had it serviced just recently. Took a peek at the warranty and it's unfortunately expired. Bummer right? I haven't done a thorough battery voltage check but I did eyeball the alternator and it seems alright to my untrained eye. I'll be sure to get a battery drain test done ASAP. Replacing the battery sounds like a solid plan but there goes the wallet eh? Time to start saving up I guess! Thanks again for sharing your experience, it really helps!

Hey there! No worries at all, happy to share my experiences if it gets your Eon back on the road faster! It's definitely a bummer about the warranty being expired. Seems like it's always just run out when you need it, right? At this point, you might want to find a reputable workshop. They can run the necessary tests on your alternator and battery to be excellent sure that's where the problem lies. Just like my case, it could be the battery going belly up. Though odd electrical symptoms could also be a sign of an alternator not charging the battery properly. So it's wise not to rule that out. A good workshop will sort that out for you! And yeah, I totally feel you about the hit to the wallet. Cars, huh? They're great when they're running well - not so much when they decide to give us a headache! Good luck with it and I hope my two cents was of some help. Keep us posted, yeah?

You bet! It's massively helpful to hear from someone who's been through the same mess. I'm definitely going to get those checks done at a good workshop. Fingers crossed it’s nothing more than the battery. And yeah, you hit the nail right on the head - it always seems like the warranty has just ended when you need it! Anyway, once I get it sorted out, I'll let you know how it panned out. Again, massive thanks for your insights. Wish me luck, I'm gonna need it!
