Seeking Advice on Fixing Faulty Heated Windows in 2019 Mercedes V Klasse Diesel Model

Hey everyone, I'm having a bit of a situation with my 2019 Mercedes V Klasse, Diesel model. Recently, the heated windows stopped working and I discovered a fault stored in the system. I'm considering it might be due to limited windscreen heating function. Has anyone else experienced this and got it fixed from the workshop? How was your experience and what was the resolution? Would really appreciate your advice and suggestions.

Summary of the thread

A 2019 Mercedes V Klasse owner is experiencing issues with the heated windows not functioning and suspects a fault related to the windscreen heating function. A fellow car owner suggests that a weak car battery might be the cause, based on a similar experience with a different Mercedes model. The recommendation is to check the battery status or consult a professional for further diagnosis. The owner plans to follow this advice and update the community on the outcome.

Hey! I had a similar issue with my 2017 Mercedes E Klasse. I'm not a car expert, but I have some experience tinkering with my own. Took my car to my trusty local workshop and they traced the problem to a weak car battery, which cost me around 290 Euro to replace and fix it up. In your case, it could be the same issue or something similar that's causing the heating system to act up. Maybe check out your battery status or take it to a professional. By the way, does your vehicle has any other symptoms or error messages beside this? That could help figure out the issue further. Cheers!

Hey, thanks for your reply! Always great to get some firsthand experience from community members. Makes sense that the battery might be at fault. I'm not seeing any other errors currently, it's just the windscreen heating that's playing up. By the way, my V Klasse has clocked up 89515 KM and it was last serviced about a month ago. I will definitely check the battery status and if needed, get it to a pro. Cheers for the tip, much appreciated!

No problem at all! Always happy to chip in with my two cents. Glad to hear there aren't any other error messages popping up as that could complicate things. Given the KM your V Klasse has clocked up, and considering you've serviced it recently, I'd definitely recommend checking the battery. A weak or ailing battery can cause weird issues in cars such as ours. Do keep us posted on how it goes after the battery check or possible replacement. Wishing you a quick and easy fix! Cheers!

You're a lifesaver! I appreciate your share of wisdom. I wasn't considering the battery before, but as per your advice, I'll make sure to have it checked. Fingers crossed that it's just the battery causing the issue and nothing complicated. I will definitely keep the community updated once I've had it checked and fixed. Thanks again for your valuable suggestion and good wishes! Cheers and take care!
