Thanks for weighing in. Your experience sounds eerily familiar. I did remember there being a software update in the mix not too long ago, post which I started noticing the weird behaviour, and yeah, I did switch the gas station recently. Quite a bit of a coincidence there, eh? To give you a clearer picture, my Arkana's got about 23,564 km on her, with the latest servicing done right before the mileage hit the 20k mark. I remember the service guys mentioning something about updates being done then, could be a lead. I'm going to take your advice and bring it in to the local shop, get them to browse all nooks and crannies just to be safe. €265 doesn't sound too steep if it redeems the smooth ride I once enjoyed. Thanks again for the help, will update on how it goes. Keep your fingers crossed for me!
Hey, no problem, always here to help a fellow Renault driver! Your mileage is about the typical mark where some parts could start acting up, even if they don't break down completely yet. In regards to the software update, it's indeed possible it's playing a part here. Funny how tech is meant to make things easier but ends up complicating matters sometimes, right? It's also a good idea to ask your mechanic specifically about the accelerator pedal module and its electronics, just to be sure. My Renault was also a bit over the 20,000 km mark when I experienced similar issues. And from what I've learned, issues with newer car models like ours happen just as commonly after software updates, so it might be contributing to the situation. Switching gas stations also might have an impact on your car’s behavior. I initially thought it could’ve been some bad gas I got somewhere, but then it turned out to be a much more “mechanical” issue. The car definitely felt smoother after the fix, almost as good as new. I hope that'll be the case for your Arkana as well. Hope everything turns out well at the shop. Looking forward to hearing good news from you soon! You got this!
Thanks for the extra insight! Yeah, isn't it ironic how tech is supposed to simplify things, but here we are, troubleshooting like it's the '90s again, eh? I'll make sure to mention the accelerator pedal module to the mechanic - got it jotted down on my notes already. And yeah, switching gas stations might have had an impact, I'll have to dig into that as well. I truly hope my Arkana paces up to be as smooth as your Kadjar post-fix. Can't wait to let her rip on the open road. Thanks again for the advice and the encouragement. I appreciate it big time. Will definitely keep you posted on developments. Here's hoping for a smooth ride ahead. Cheers!
Hey there! I'm not a bonafide mechanic, but I've got some experience wrenching around under the hood. A while back, I had a similar issue with my 2021 Renault Kadjar, one of Arkana's brothers from another series in Renault. From what you described, it aligns quite well with my experience. Apparently, there was a defect in the accelerator pedal module or the electronics inside it. It led to the car misfiring, stalled engine, jerky rides - sounds pretty close to the problems you are describing. I ended up taking it to my local shop, and they were able to pinpoint and fix the issue. Cost me around 265 euro, but I reckon every penny was worth it as it felt like a new car again afterwards. Out of curiosity, has your Arkana got any software updates recently? Or have you noticed the issue after refueling? Sometimes the type of gas or software issues can exacerbate these kinds of problems. Hope this helps! Let me know if you need more specifics. Hang in there!
