Seeking Advice on Headlights Cleaning Function Issue in 2019 Nissan Pulsar

Headlight cleaning system without function

Hey folks, running into a bit of a puzzler with my 2019 Nissan Pulsar (Gasoline engine, approx. 63251KM on the odometer) these days. The headlights cleaning function seems to have thrown in the towel and my best guess is it's probably due to a low washer fluid level. I'm a bit hesitant to head back to the garage after a rotten experience last time, so I thought I'd check in here first and see if anyone else has faced a similar issue. Any tips or pointers for how you've handled it, or any good experiences with your mechanic in dealing with this? All insights are appreciated!

Hey, totally get your garage concerns - no one wants another groaner experience. That said, I had a similar issue last year with my 2016 Nissan Qashqai. Screaming "Washing liquid level too low" every journey start, but no matter how much fluid I dumped in, the headlights were still crusty as a stale crumpet. It could indeed be your washer fluid level, but your gut feeling might also be spot on. The problem might be deeper. In my case, it was a shoddy pump - it wasn't getting the washer liquid to the headlights at all. I took it to my mechanic, and luckily, the job wasn't too crazy. Pump replacement and good as new, no more grime-covered headlights and incessant washing liquid warnings. If it's a similar issue with your Pulsar, I'd heavily recommend letting a pro give it a once-over before the whole headlights cleaning function packs up altogether. They'll likely know what's up as soon as they have a peek under the hood. So yeah, same boat, and it turned out alright. Hope that helps put your mind at ease a bit!

Hey dude, that's a relief to hear that it wasn't too mad of a job on your Qashqai. You're probably right, best to get a professional to do a check-up before my headlights give up entirely. Just so I'm prepared for the blow, do you remember how much you forked out for the pump replacement? And since then, any more troubles pop up regarding the headlights or was it smooth sailing? Thanks a ton for the advice, really appreciate it!

Hey, Would you believe the fix for the 'Washing fluid level too low' warning was as simple as replacing a faulty pump? It was a pretty smooth operation and didn't burn a hole in my pocket either. They charged me only 25€, which I think was quite reasonable. Ever since I had that sorted out, my Nissan Qashqai has been behaving like a champ with no further whining about the washer fluid level nor any issues with the headlights. In my books, that's smooth sailing! Taking it to the mechanic was definitely the right call. You never know, a similar quick and cost-effective fix might be the solution for your Pulsar too! Hope this info helps!

Fella, you're a lifesaver! I've been fretting big time over this, imagining giant repair bills and all. To hear that the fix for your Qashqai was just a quick pump replacement at that price, well, I can certainly breathe easier. I'm feeling a whole lot more confident about taking my Pulsar down to the mechanics now. With a bit of luck, I'll have an outcome as smooth as yours. Thanks for taking the time to share your experience, really meant a lot to me. Cheers!
