Hey, appreciate the reply. I'm glad to hear your Santa Fe got sorted out. The wastegate valve linkage situation, sounds like the right direction. I'm just curious, do you remember what it set you back, finance-wise? And has anything else popped up since then? Crossing my fingers this isn't the start of a marathon, y'know? Anyway, cheers for the heads up!
Hey, no worries, happy to help a fellow motorhead! As for the cost, sorting out the wastegate valve linkage came to about 240.00€ -- Not the cheapest job, but a necessary one. And in terms of further problems? Not really, since my mechanic took a good look at it. The boost pressure control's functional limitation was sorted out and it's been running smooth as can be ever since. No sign of a long road ahead, touch wood. Remember a good mechanic is worth their weight in gold. Hope your Terracan gets back on track soon!
Spot on! Thanks for all the valuable advice. You're right, a good mechanic is a gem, and it’s about time I found myself a reliable one. I'm going to bite the bullet on that cost, reckon the old girl, my Terracan, is worth it. Thanks to you, I think I'll dodge the marathon! Cheers again for your insight. Let's hope she's running like a dream again soon!
Hey, got a 2006 Hyundai Santa Fe that had almost the same symptoms you're describing. Cheeky check engine light came on and I was dealing with a jumpy acceleration and less-than-stellar engine performance. Took it down to my local garage and turns out it was the wastegate valve linkage that needed adjusting. This wasn't just a quick fix though, had to leave it in for a full day so they could sort out the issue properly. Apparently, it's a bit more involved than your regular service - but crucial to get sorted. Can't be risking the turbo, right? End of the day, adjusting the wastegate valve linkage really ironed out those issues for me. Engine runs smooth now and funnily, my fuel economy improved a touch. It’s definitely something to consider looking into. Hope this helps you out! Good luck!
