Wow! That's uncanny. Seems like we're travelling on the same road, just different car models. Mostly the same symptoms and everything. Anyway, with my Xsara, I’ve clocked up 287123 km so far and never had to deal with anything similar before. Had her last service done 6 months back where the basic tune-ups and fluid replacements were handled, nothing major. So this issue caught me off guard, you could say. Thanks for the advice, I think I'll shuttle her over to my local garage and see what they have to say. Your success story gives me hope. Appreciate your help!

Oi! No sweat, glad to share my two cents and chip in. Our old bangers have crossed some mileage, eh? In that context, these issues aren't too uncommon. Your Xsara has served you well for so many kilometers, these problems are likely wear and tear. But, I'm not a mechanic, just been around a bit! Getting her checked at your local garage sounds just about right; always trust a professional, y'know? Just a fair warning, keep that pocket ready, this DMTL party could dance anywhere around the same ballpark figure I mentioned, give or take. Fingers crossed it's not too rough on the wallet! Be sure to update us here, it's always good to add to the trove of our collective car knowledge. Best of luck with this! Get that Xsara back in shape and roaring down those roads again!

Cheers! That's been a heap of help. You're right, after serving me well for so many kilometres, my old lass deserves some professional TLC. I'm all set to brave the bill, just hoping the damage isn't too heavy on the wallet. Looking forward to seeing my Xsara back in top shape and ready to conquer the roads again. I'll keep you posted about what happens next, might end up contributing to the treasure trove of car wisdom! Thanks for the luck, will need plenty! Catch ya on the flip side!

Hey there, I once had a dash of trouble with my '03 Citroen C5, so we're North and South of the same issue. Now, I'm no grease monkey, but have been around the block a few times with car issues - you could say I have some experience. Same lurking engine light, jerky acceleration, the works. Turned out, you're spot on, it was the vent lines from the tank to the valve being a royal pain. Charged into my local workshop, they're ace so trusted them with my baby. Cost me a pretty penny though - around 205 Euro, but got the job done. Can you share more about your Xsara? For instance, any recent work done on it or history of similar issues, helps to pin this nasty critter down. I hope my Xsara surprise limits your headache bud.
