Hey there Well that's a relief to know I'm not alone with this problem. Seems identical to my Kia Bongo's state. How hard did that sensor wiring harness replacement hit your wallet, if you don't mind me asking? Also, any follow up issues or has your Sorento been running smoothly since then? Cheers!

Hey there, Well, the replacement of the intake manifold pressure sensor wiring harness did dent my wallet by 95€, but given the pretty smooth ride it's been since then, I'd say it's worth it. Ever since it got fixed up by my trusty mechanic, my Sorento has been running like a dream, no further issues at all. It's behaving just like it should - no more check engine lights flashing or any of those nasty jerks during acceleration. Remember when it comes to our rides, a short-term investment can save us a whole lot of hassle down the road. So, go get your Bongo checked out and sort out that wiring harness asap if that's the trouble. Good luck! Cheers!

Hey! Appreciate the speedy response and great insight. The price does seem a bit steep, but if it saves my Kia Bongo from further issues and keep it running smoothly, it's certainly justified. I'll check out with my local mechanic first thing in the morning and get this sorted. Your experience has definitely put my mind at ease - couldn't thank you more! Cheers!

Hey! Sounds fairly familiar! I had a similar thing happen to my 2017 Kia Sorento not too long ago. The intake manifold pressure sensor wiring harness was indeed the culprit. It was showing symptoms just like yours - unsteady run, reduced engine power, the whole shebang. Turns out, the wiring harness had an open circuit which meant the signal wasn't getting from the sensor back to the engine control unit. This was causing a misread of the intake manifold pressure, hence the poor performance. The garage had to replace the entire wiring harness, and they also did a thorough check to make sure that the issue was not with the sensor itself which was in good shape. They reminded me how important these sensors and their wiring are, as they help control the air-fuel mixture that goes into the engine, directly affecting the car's performance. So cross-verify your sensor and wiring harness. It could be a similar situation with your Bongo. It's a bit of a significant issue but well, nothing that can't be handled. Hope it gets resolved speedily. Cheers!
