Hey, Thanks for sharing your experience. I'm a bit relieved to hear it may not be as serious as I thought. Just out of curiosity, do you remember roughly how much that sensor replacement and system reset set you back? I'm trying to prepare myself for any surprise expenses. Also, has there been any further issues or has the repair really held up? I want to ensure this isn't going to become a recurrent problem. Cheers!
Hey, Glad to hear you found my experience somewhat helpful! To answer your question, the cost wasn't too steep considering the relief it provided. The whole process of sensor replacement and system reset set me back about 315€. Now, compared to a potential full battery replacement cost, I'd say it was worth every penny. When it comes to the dreaded recurrence question, I'm thrilled to mention that the issue has been completely resolved since the repair. I've had my Ateca back for a while now, and she's been purring like a kitten - no more lagging starts or naughty flickering lights. So it was indeed a one-time cost and a problem solved for good. So, don't worry too much. It's better to get it sorted quickly one time than have the problem linger and disrupt your driving joy. Good luck! Cheers!
Hi again, That's a huge relief, really! It sounds like it was well worth the cost and it's super reassuring to know this won't likely be a problem again in the future. Thanks again for your shared experience and advice. I think I'll muster the courage and set an appointment with my mechanic. It's high time to engrave a final full stop to this issue and hope for a smooth driving experience just like yours! Cheers and safe driving!
Hey there, In fact, I recently went through a similar experience with my '16 Seat Ateca, Diesel Version, so you're definitely not alone here. Like you, my vehicle was also struggling with a weird start-up lag and some obnoxious flickering lights. I was also racking my brain, guessing it to be the battery, which turned out to be true - the battery sensor was acting up. Just like you, I was also a bit skeptical about heading back to my mechanic, considering past experiences. But ultimately, taking the bull by its horns, I finally decided to pull myself over to the local garage. After a thorough inspection, the mechanic identified the issue as a defective battery sensor. The silver lining is that it wasn't as serious as I assumed. They performed a sensor replacement, reset the system, and salvaged the battery. It wasn't like they had to replace the entire battery. I got my Ateca back after a day, and since then, she's been running smooth with no more lagging or flickering. Looks like your Tarraco might be in need of the same repair! So, I'd recommend dropping by your local mechanic soon. Despite your reservations, it’s the fastest way to get your Tarraco back on track. Good luck! Cheers!
