Hey, Thanks for your advice! My Nissan's currently at 198,024 KM. Had it serviced 2 months ago, with no new modifications. I'll definitely have my mechanic look into the wiring harness. It's gotta be less stress than trying to figure this out on my own. Cheers!

Hey again, Good to know you got it serviced recently. With the high mileage, stuff like this can pop up, especially with the Note. Don't worry, though. We're all here to help each other out, aren't we? That said, even though I had issues with the wiring harness on my Micra, your original hunch about the thermostat might not be far off. Maybe it's a combination of both, or perhaps something entirely different. The overheating and the check engine light on could also be due to a faulty radiator, water pump, or even clogged coolant lines. From my experience with these cars, a check engine light often signifies more than one problem. The Nissan's diagnostic system sometimes activates due to the stress of another issue. So it might be a good idea to have your mechanic do a complete diagnostic and inspection whenever you're able to take it in. Just a suggestion. Don't stress yourself too much, these things happen and they are solvable. Good luck, and do keep us updated!

You're top-notch! I appreciate you laying out the possibilities. Honestly, it's a bit of a relief hearing that there could be various causes and it's not necessarily a doomed fate for my Nissan. My plan's to drop by the mechanic's tomorrow and have all of your suggestions checked out. I'll definitely pass on all these points and let's see how it goes from there. A complete diagnostic seems like the way to go indeed. I'll also keep you guys posted on any new developments. Fingers crossed, hope it's not something too serious! Cheers!

Hey, Sounds pretty similar to what I had to go through with my 2013 Nissan Micra. I've gotta say, I have some experience with car stuff but by no means a pro at it. Took my car to my local workshop and the guys there traced the problem down to a damaged wiring harness. Cost me about 110 Euro to get it fixed. You might wanna get your mechanic to check the wiring of your Nissan Note. Just a thought though, what's your current mileage? Also, any recent modifications or repairs done? A bit more info could help pin down possible causes. Good luck!
