Hey there, that might just be the insight I needed. With your Ateca, did the same symptoms pop up? I'm wondering if the corrupted wiring might be what's getting my Tarraco all hot and bothered as well. By the by, do you remember how much you ended up shelling out for the whole repair, including that diagnostic run the mechanic did? Also, how's the Ateca been running after the fix? Any other problems surprising you or has it been smooth sailing? Appreciate your help, cheers!
Hey, just as I suspected with my Ateca, your Tarraco likely has the same issue going on. Absolutely, same symptoms cropped up. Drove me bonkers till the problem was pin-pointed. As for the cost, the diagnostic, sorting out that pesky corroded wiring harness to the sensor, and all the repair work cost me about 155€. Not a bad deal if you ask me, considering it put an end to all the overheating drama. Also, great news, since the repair, my Ateca's been running like a dream, no more surprises! And you know what? The radiator shutter has been working flawlessly too. It was all down to that sneaky wiring issue. So no sweat, get that fixed and your Tarraco will be as good as new. Cheers! Hope this helps!
You beauty! Sounds like a solid win on your end. Thanks heaps for the detailed response. Looks like we've got a lead on what's cookin' with my Tarraco then. 155€ seems pretty fair for ending this overheating nightmare, have to say. Definitely worth it if it means my ride will work smoothly like your Ateca. Big relief hearing that faulty wiring might be the root of it all. I'll bear your advice in mind and have my mechanic run a diagnostic first thing. Really cheers me up knowing there's a way out of this mess and it’s nothing major. You've been a great help! Thanks again and ride on!
Hey, got a 2019 Seat Ateca myself and ran into a somewhat similar issue not too long ago. Turned out that it wasn't a radiator shutter issue at all but rather a defective wiring harness to the sensor. The damn thing was downright corroded. I've got a trusty mechanic friend who pinpointed the problem and got me sorted. He replaced the defective part and managed to address the corrosion issue too. It's not so serious that it'll outright wreck your engine or anything, but it's definitely something you'll want to get on top of before it gets worse. Just a word to the wise, get a diagnostic run to confirm the problem before you start spending cash on stuff you might not need. Hope you get your situation sorted out soon, all the best!
