Seeking Advice on Persistent Speedometer Warning Light in 2018 Dacia Sandero Possibly Due to Low Brake Fluid Level

Hey! I'm having an odd issue with my 2018 Dacia Sandero that uses a gasoline engine. Recently, I noticed a warning light on my speedometer that just won't go away. My hunch is that it could be due to the car's brake fluid level being pretty low. I'm fishing for any tips or experiences anyone might have had with a similar problem. If you've had this issue before, can you tell me how you got it sorted at the garage? Thanks in advance!

Summary of the thread

A 2018 Dacia Sandero owner is experiencing a persistent warning light on the speedometer, suspected to be related to low brake fluid levels. A similar issue in a 2016 Dacia Duster was resolved by addressing worn-out brakes, not just fluid levels. The advice is to promptly visit a garage to diagnose and fix the issue, as ignoring it could lead to more significant braking problems.

Hey! I had something similar happen with my 2016 Dacia Duster a while back. I'm not a car expert but I do have some experience messing around with cars. I can tell you from the get-go: warning lights on the dash ain't something to ignore. Straightaway, I headed to my local garage. After a quick look, they told me my vehicle's brakes were worn out - not just a fluid level issue. It ended up costing me a cool 480 Euro to set right. Anyway, could you give a bit more info about your situation? Like, have you got any weird noises when braking or noticed any difference in how your Sandero stops? The more you can tell, the better we might be able to help you out.

Thanks for the head's up! Nah, haven't noticed anything unusual, like weird noises or braking issues, just that stubborn light. It was a surprise 'cause I just got it serviced at 60918 KM, not too long ago. Guess I'll have to wander back to the garage and have 'em check it out. Cheers for sharing your experience, should probably brace myself for a bit of an expense, huh?

No worries! And yeah, it might well be an expense I'm afraid. With my Duster, it all felt normal even when the lights came on. I didn't have any strange sounds or anything. But obviously, the worn-out brakes were a sneaky bugger. My advice is to get it checked out sooner rather than later - you definitely don't wanna mess around when it comes to the brakes. Half the time, we're so familiar with how our car should feel that we don't notice little changes that could be hinting at a problem. Anyway, that's what happened with me. Hope you get it sorted out without too much of a fuss. Let me know how it all goes down at the garage. Good luck!

Appreciate the advice and well wishes! Yeah, best not ignore it then. I'll have it checked right away, don't want to risk any braking troubles. Your experience definitely gives me a clear picture of what to expect. I'll be sure to keep you posted on how things pan out at the garage. Cheers and thanks again for the help!
