Seeking Advice on Persistent Warning Light and System Readiness Check in 2010 Lexus LX

Warning light in the speedometer of the vehicle

Hey everyone, I'm dealing with a strange issue with my 2010 Lexus LX, gasoline engine. There's a warning light on the dash that won't go away. I'm thinking this could relate to the system readiness check not being completed. Has anyone else had this problem before and got it fixed? What was your experience at the workshop like? All advice and sharing of experiences are very much appreciated!

Hey, this issue sounds a bit like what I experienced with my 2008 Lexus ES, also a gasoline beauty. Now, I can't claim to be a car expert, but I've learned a fair bit from my own mechanical mishaps. I got a similar stubborn warning light post battery replacement. Turned out that sometimes modern cars, Lexus included, get a bit finicky when their batteries are disconnected or replaced. I decided to get it checked at a local workshop and after a bit of tinkering, they handled it. Cost me around 90 Euro, not too bad considering the peace of mind afterwards. It'd be useful if you could share more info about your LX, like mileage and maintenance history. Might be able to help you pinpoint your issue even better! Stay safe.

Hey, that's pretty relieving to hear! My LX's got about 86,618km on the dash. Went for a full-scale service about half a year ago. No major issues then, so this light popping up kinda threw me off. Hoping it's as straightforward as your case. Will definitely get it checked out at my usual place, cheers for the tip-off. Drive safe too!

Good on ya! From my experience, with that mileage and decently recent service history, I reckon your LX should still be in fine condition. Warning lights can be tricky little buggers as they sometimes pop up for the most trivial reasons. Definitely a smart move getting it checked though, just to be on the safe side. Hey, remember to ask your mechanic about how frequently the readiness check should be run, just for future reference. If your LX is behaving anything like my ES, it might save you some trouble in future. Safe driving and do keep us posted on what you find out!

Absolutely, safety's priority, isn't it? That's a astute piece of advice about inquiring the frequency of the system readiness test; I'll surely remember to ask. You've been very helpful, I appreciate it. As for updates, will definitely let you know when the mystery behind this stubborn light gets solved! Drive safe and take care!
