Seeking Advice on Repairing Window Regulator in 2005 Kia Picanto
Summary of the thread
A 2005 Kia Picanto owner is experiencing issues with the power windows and suspects the window regulator might be the problem. A suggestion is made to first check the window switches, as a similar issue in a different Kia model was resolved by replacing a defective switch. If the switches are not the cause, further investigation into the regulator is advised.

Hey, appreciate the advice! Sure, a bit more info here. My Picanto's rode about 19542 KM on the roads till this date. The car's held up pretty well so far, but who knows, it's the little inconsistencies that can throw you a surprise. I'll certainly check the window switches first before jumping to the regulator issue. Cheers!

Absolutely those little surprises can be a real headache! Your Picanto sounds like it's in pretty decent shape with that mileage. When I had my issue, my Rio had around 100000 KM on the clock and had seen some hefty use out and about. If your switches are fine and you don't find any other obvious culprits, it might be time to think about the regulator. Keep us posted on what you find out. Good luck!

Thanks a bunch! It's reassuring to hear from someone who's been there. I'll run those checks on the switches first and see how it goes. If I don't spot any issues there, I'll start to look into the regulator. Will definitely keep you posted. Cheers for the help!

Hey. I've got a 2003 Kia Rio and ran into the same sorta problem last year — that's some experience speaking, not a pro though! Turned out to be a dratted defective window switch, not the regulator. Cost me around 130 Euro at the local workshop. What's your mileage and general car condition? With a bit more info, might be able to guide you better on this. Do check your window switches before anything else, okay?
