Cheers, Interesting to know you had almost the same issue with your V60. It does put me at ease a bit knowing it isn't something massively concerning. Thanks for the tips about the delicate wiring and parts with the mirror systems too, man. I'll have to see if I feel like I can tackle it or if I'll need to bring it to a pro. That little garage downtown you mentioned, remember how much they charged you for fixing it? And has anything else come up related to this issue since then? I appreciate your help and look forward to your response!

G'day! Glad to hear my previous experience kinda reassured you! It's never nice when things go wonky. But, you're right - this issue, while certainly needed to be addressed, isn't too hefty, thankfully. Now, as for your questions about the cost and whether there were any follow-up issues: the repairs for my mirror heating problem cost me around 155€. You gotta understand, though, this was for fixing that pesky cable connection to the mirror that went kaput and the mirror glass plug connection that was a bit oxidized. Ever since these issues were sorted, I haven't noticed anything else heating up unexpectedly. As for tackling it yourself vs taking it to a professional - only you can answer that! Provided you're comfortable dealing with delicate bits and all that. I mean, this garage I went to did a bang-up job for me. But, as long as it gets done right, that's what matters, right? Cheers!

Thanks for cracking open your experiences. Your answers to the cost and follow-up have cleared my concerns a bit more. I mean 155€ doesn't sound too bad considering it guarantees smoother rides again. And, it's good to know you haven't had any other unexpected heating up since then. Now, I'm even more tempted to look into that garage you mentioned. I'll think a bit more about fixing it myself. You're right, if it gets done right, that's what matters. Your input has been uber helpful, cheers! I'll update on what I decide after shorting this out. Till then, safe driving!

Hey there, Had a similar issue with my 2017 V60 not too long ago. Just like you, my car system was showing a fault and the exterior mirrors would heat up unexpectedly. It was kinda hard not having control over that, especially when not needed. Sounds exactly like what you have going on. Turned out the main culprit was a defective cable connection to the mirror. Also, the plug connection on the mirror glass was slightly oxidized which wasn't doing any favors. Got it treated at an honest little garage downtown, and those guys did a quality job. In my case, it certainly was a necessary fix but not a massive issue. Not having perfect visibility could potentially lead to some serious trouble down the road, especially in tricky weather conditions. Just a heads up, working on mirror systems can be a bit tricky. You'll be dealing with delicate wiring and parts. If you have a steady hand and you're good with cars, you could try to fix it yourself. But if it's uncharted territory, better leave it to professionals. You'll sleep better knowing it's done right. Hope that helps!
