Seeking Advice on Seat Heating Issue in 2004 Hyundai Getz

Hey everyone, I've been having some trouble with my 2004 Hyundai Getz (Gasoline engine, 119963 KM) and trying to crack what's causing it. The seat heating just stopped working out of the blue. My guess is it's a seat heating failure. Has anyone ever run into a similar issue or can point me in the right direction? Also, I should mention my previous experience with a mechanic wasn't great, so I am looking to get some good recommendations too if you've got them. Cheers!

Hey there, I totally get the frustration. I had a similar problem with my 2007 Hyundai Elantra a couple of years back. The heating mat in the seat decided to give up on me one chilly morning. After fiddling around, I finally took it to the garage. Turns out, it wasn't something extremely severe, but it was definitely something that needed to be looked into. The mechanic figured it was the heating element that had simply worn out. Eventually, they had to replace the entire heating element. Given your problem Sounds pretty similar, it might also be the seat heating element for you. As for mechanics, it's hit and miss. Best way's to ask around, check reviews, maybe there are forums for local garages in your area? Hope this helps you out. Good luck!

Hey, thanks for sharing your experience! Hearing about your Elantra, I feel my Getz might be in a similar boat. The heating element worn-out explanation could really make sense for my case as well. So, you mentioned they had to replace the entire thing in your car, right? By any chance, do you remember the ballpark figure you paid for that? Also, has anything related or unexpected popped up since you got that fix? And yeah, will definitely look around forums and reviews for a reliable local mechanic. Thanks again!

Hey, no worries! Glad to be of help. Now, about the costs, I remember quite well that it set me back by around 390.00€. Not exactly spare change, but it was worth it for the comfort of a warm seat during those winter drives, I tell ya! Since you're wondering about further related issues, well you'll be pleased to know there's been nothing of the sort since the mechanic sorted out the seat heating failure. It's been working like a charm, touch wood! It proves that sometimes it's better to let the pros handle these things, despite the cost, especially if car mechanics isn't your bread and butter. Just be sure to find a reliable one. Good luck with your Getz!

Wow, around 390.00€, huh? It is indeed a steep price, but I agree with you, for those chilly mornings, the comfort's worth it. It's a real relief to hear that you've had no recurring issues since the fix. This has been really useful! Your insights definitely put my mind at ease about the whole thing. This chat has given me a good starting point, I'll start my hunt for a reliable local mechanic. So, thank you. You've been a great help. Wish me luck! Cheers!
