Seeking Advice on Seat Tarraco 2021 Gear Selection Display Issue and Speedometer Warning Light

Hey folks, I need some advice. I've a 2021 Seat Tarraco, gasoline model, and it's been acting up lately. Specifically, the gear selection display is out of whack and the speedometer warning light won't stop bugging me. I’m sensing that it could be due to a malfunctioning clutch pedal switch. Has anyone else experienced a similar issue and if so, how did your garage fix it? Cheers for any tips or experiences you can share.

Summary of the thread

A 2021 Seat Tarraco owner is experiencing issues with the gear selection display and a persistent speedometer warning light. The suspected cause is a malfunctioning clutch pedal switch, possibly due to a faulty cable connection. A similar issue in another vehicle was resolved by fixing the clutch switch cable connection, suggesting a straightforward and affordable solution. Seeking advice, the owner plans to have the vehicle inspected by their regular garage and possibly seek a second opinion.

Hey, Had a similar thing with my 2019 Seat Alhambra, diesel model though. I'd say I have some experience dabbling around with cars, nothing too extensive but enough to get my hands dirty. Had an issue and it turned out to be the Cable connection/plug to clutch switch. Took it to my usual workshop, paid around 95 Euro to get it all fixed. Can't remember all the specifics, but feel free to reach out if you want more info. By the way, would you mind sharing the exact model of your car? I could perhaps dig up more precise information from my repair history. Cheers!

Hey, Really appreciate your help. 95 Euro isn't too bad, glad to hear it wasn't anything major! It's worth checking the clutch switch cable connection then. By the way, my Tarraco is a 2021 model, clocked around 117393 KM. Had its last service recently so this problem is a bit of a surprise. Anyway, good to have a direction to steer in now. Thanks again!

Hey, No worries at all, glad I could help! And yeah, that's a bit frustrating to have a problem crop up right after service, isn't it? But given your Tarraco's model and mileage, your hypothesis about the clutch pedal switch malfunction might just be spot on. It does align with my experience and the symptoms you described. If it's indeed the cable connection to the clutch switch, it should likely be a straightforward fix, nothing too exorbitant. Fingers crossed it's just that, huh? And remember, a second opinion never hurts. If you're not satisfied with your regular garage, feel free to take it somewhere else. It's your car after all, and you have the final say! Good luck, and do keep us posted on how it goes! Cheers!

Hey, Thanks bunches for taking the time to help out, really means a lot. Your insight helped relax my nerves a tad. Hopefully, it's just that cable connection, nothing too onerous on the wallet. I reckon I'll have my usual lads give it a once-over and possibly get a second opinion too, as you recommended. Definitely will keep you all posted. With a bit of luck, I might get it sorted out before the weekend. Cheers for the advice and well wishes! Safe driving out there.
